One way I go about creating risers...

I take a sample or sound and repeat that sound over several bars but raise the pitch by 12 semitones over the length of the bars
I will also layer white noise underneath of the sound

I find a reverse snare over several bars with rising pitch also works quite well

Automation is key.

Reverbs and Delays on sends increasing before the drop. Messing with the Filter Cut Off.

White Noise panned left to right at different rates with a stereo imager to widen

One simple trick I do in a pinch is to find a nice preset in alchemy (or any synth) and then throw an lfo ramp up on the master pitch. Spread that across 8 bars. Most of the time though, I'll just do a reese with lots of verb and delay and lfo the pitch up on that haha.

If you're into blowing CPU on a riser then I know a cool way to build one in Massive.

Put an envolope with a slow decay on the pitch of a saw wave. Obviously this sounds very dry, so I use to Modulation Oscillator set to the first Oscillator on Phase. Turn it down to about 8 o'clock or throw the same envelope on there if you're really feeling groovy :corndance:

*Edit*
Throw some reverb on there with very little dryness and possibly give it some more voice and detuning. :W:

building risers with FM is great.
3xosc white noise + BP Filter + Resonance 100% + Modulated cutoff is good sometimes.
sometimes I just stick with saws and whatnot in 3xosc make some basic synths for risers and they work out perfectly

Shit mate, 100% resonance rapes the fuck outta my ears. I usually set the res to about 30%
