I dunno. Maybe it will be useful in the end like The Big Thread of Samples & Patches?

Also, if people come across cool links for a certain daw, or have decent little tips to share, then people generally browsing may pick up something new! :)

Advice for beginners using Reason:

Learn the keyboard shortcuts, and your workflow will speed up! (There aren't that many). You will find details of the keyboard shortcuts in the Documentation folder in Reasons Start Menu folder.

Stupid question but why have you got 3 cominators named AA in there all cutting of the bottom end? :oops:

Notice I have each combinator loaded up with a mixer which in turn is patched through a Filter, eq and two compressors?

I can't be arsed to load those up every time I start a new sound + tie the filter cutoff to Rotary 1.

With those combis already loaded up, I just click inside and create whichever instrument I want. Then I can get tweaking on the eq and compression with minimal fuss.

The patch is called 'AA' so that it appears at the top of my Reason patches folder. When I need a new combi, it's quicker to fire up those compressors, eq and mixer by loading the patch rather than creating each one individually.

I like to have the line mixer in each combi so I can stack multiple synths in one preset. It also gives me the option of having send effects before the master mixer.
