I'm with most people on this. The songs themselves are mediocre at best and the vocals ruin it.

this is pretty disappointing, i was expecting something pretty ace. i'm usually into most stuff he does (dollx3, chocolate wheel chair, rossz, all classic albums) but yeah, this isn't really doing it for me.

i hope he does some more dubstep stuff though, i reckon he could eventually make a corker.

Venetian snares in straight TOILET. Never understood the hype on their whole no-rhythm thing.

Dubstep is for people who can keep tempo.

sounds like he could have made something decent without the black sabbath gimmick. im quite feeling the beats, its just sounds cheese with the vox n bells etc...

It simply states its Snares 'vision of dubstep' - which in no way suggests either A: Snares is trying to get into dubstep or B: It should be treated as a serious dubstep effort.

Apart from that, I have to agree with what everyone else has said, I'm a long time Snares listener, and this is doing nothing for me. The way I see it you have to look for the diamonds in the muck when it comes to his output, hes made both the best and worst music I have ever heard - sadly this release is closer to the latter.

For me irritations arise from the classification of this record as "Dubstep". I have certain ideas connected with this term and wouldn't associate the work of Aaron Funk with it. I'm wondering if it was toolbox distribution that came up with this description. Otherwise it would be a downbeat, experimental, mash up, whatever VSnares release. It might still be crap but I could deal with it more easily without having the question in mind: "Is this a (good) Dubstep record or what?"
VSnares is good when it comes to producing fucked up beats without 4/4 schemes (if you don't like hard, broken, experimental stuff this is certainly not your type of music) but I'm not sure for this 10". But the sound quality of the clips is really bad and the clips are short so I have no clue how the whole record sounds like.

not feeling this at all. the bass of the first track is extremely nice, but the whole thing feels more like uk dub than dubstep - only that the ozzy vocals add an absolutely negative vibe to it. very strange and repulsive stuff.

it's 7/4 with constant sample mentalism lol

Those tracks sound sloppy to me. Or maybe I've heard one delicious halfstep banger too many and my musical sensibilities are beginning to degenerate. You can't force inspiration, but you can binge on crack cocaine and then create the most non-sloppy-of tracks from that kind of a down-low (AFAIC) experience. Aaron is my hero.

No swing=No rhythm. If you can't nod your head to it, turn it off.

I get the idea, I just think he doesn't.

Not a V-Snares fan in general but I was expecting worse. I am not feeling the ozzystep like many others and it's otherwise mediocre which adds up to a shite relelase.
