Jeez, been a while since I posted.
I think this is pretty cool. But then I'm biased as I'm a huge Snares fan and Paranoid is one of my all time favourite albums (and Electric Funeral is a highlight for me).
The sound quality is poor, so it's pretty hard to get a full picture of what's on offer, but I for one will defo be purchasing this.
Oh yeh, Snares has done absolutely lush ambient and non-breakcore tracks too...pick of the bunch being Moonglow on Addict.
Why do you have to nod your head to appreciate music???
Dance like you're selling nails

Also, I find it doubly offensive since I LOVE SABBATH.

what the fuck is this guy doin to dubstep, put that awful ozzy vocals away, it belongs to him and to that kind of music
take all 10 inchies back, burn them and then rls this tunes again w/o the vocals, then it might be a bit more propa

why do ozzy vocals belong to that kind of music, but the hiphop, dancehall etc. ones don't?
i say sample whatever the fuck you want just make it sound good, unfortunately v.s. has failed to do that with this single

these are pretty weak
the ideas are kind of cool, but these vox need to go...
i am all for sampling whatever, but you can't just throw shirt around like that....
these tracks are too dubby for ozzy to be wailing over them. put some ragga motherfucker over top and they will completely change these tunes

er.. for what its worth, you guys are kind of missing the point.
KRISS Recs is pretty much a metal "mashup" tribute label of sorts. Nothing to be taken seriously, like FUBAR with beats. Some won't see the humour in it all. But I must say, the mon Jahba did a pretty entertaining dnb mash of War Pigs awhile back. And a Ministry banger too. I was pleased.
Still, Snares is... well... Snares. And that's all that could be said. I have no interest in listening to THIS release tho.
heh

VENETIAN SNARES
http://www.sendspace.com/file/hsjtjo track title "Öngyilkos Vasárnap"
aka Suicidal Sunday, uses the famous 'gloomy Sunday' lyrics'
now that is a 'dubstep' tune from him
(all bout the beats still)
taken from the Rossz Csillag Alatt Született album 2005

Oh. Oh dear.
These are pretty bad. Whether ironic , serious, vision or whatever, I really didn't enjoy listening to this on any level.
Which is odd, as i still love a bit of sabbath now and again, and Snares seems to be pretty decent usually.
Oh well.

(free, bad) translation of Bong-Ra's post on a dutch board (bongra is friend of aaron and owner of Kriss and Clash records):
This release has nothing to do with Dubstep.
the intention of this 10" was to give Black Sabbath a dub twist to it.
that dubstep coincidentally is hot atm has little to do with this release (tracks are almost 2 years old). its just a Black Ark vs Black Sabbath, Snares style.
i think its funny how there is already an outline formed on what you can and can not do within dubstep.
i fear this won't bring a lot of creativity and inovation..

I was thinkin the same thing... also, how some individuals are not allowed to make dubstep for some reason. The music belongs to no one.

I like the samples. I love Sabbath, and I think it works. Not goin to buy it tho cos theres nuttin much else on the label that I want and the postage would be stupid for one record.
Venetian Snares is like the mike Patton of dance. Hes got his fingers in alot of pots of honey and so therefore, some taste good, some taste sour, jack of all trades and all that. Venetian Snares makes everything from the sublime to pure horseshit obv everyone here thinks the latter for this release but I tink theres an element of puritanism like.
I only smoke weed when I need to,
And I need to get some rest,
I confess, I burnt a hole in the mattress,
Yes, yes, it was me, I plead guilty
I cant get no sleep
