I'm a massive Prodigy fan and was listening to Skreams 'Out Of The Box' album last night, quite a few tracks reminded me of Liam Howletts production style, even down to some of the samples that Skream uses. No disrespect to Skream as the album is one of the finest and most innovative electronic albums I've heard in a long time, but I couldn't help thinking....."I bet Liam could do this and maybe do it better"....
Does anyone know if Liam is planning on making any Dubstep? He's obviously into the scene as I was at the M.E.N. last year (Invaders Must Die Tour) and he played Breathe, followed immediately by the Numbernin6 version, also I went to Warriors Dance in Milton Keynes and there was a Dubstep stage with the likes of Caspa playing. Chase and Status on the main stage also played a fair amount of Dubstep.
I'd just love to hear a Prodigy Dubstep tune as YOU KNOW it'd be good. How can we make this happen!?! Petition or something???
Welcome to the forum.
No, I don't mind the prodigy. But they should just stick to what they're good at. I can't see anyone but prodigy fans taking them seriously if they do decide to make dubstep tracks

(Not that i wasnt expecting it)
Prodigy did a live dubstep version of Breathe at a festival once. I saw the vid.
It sounded good & defo wasnt the numbernin6 version
Wud b good to hear them try their hands at a tune in the studio tho i admit

Fair enough, I just think they have the capability to make a really good Dubstep tune, thats all. Do people take Chase and Status seriously then? As they are Drum n Bass specialists that have made Dubstep tunes? Whats the difference with Liam trying his hand at it.
Stupid thread. Just ignore it. I'll get the hang of posting soon enough.
Anyone else agree that some of Skreams Out The Box album sounds very Prodigy-esque ????

I saw this tune at Brixton once, and it was pretty good.
No i wouldnt mind if Prodigy made a 140ish bpm track, but i think if they/he actively went into it with a Dubstep mindset it just wouldnt be as good, it might hinder the "natural" flow of things. I rarely sit down and say "ok, im gonna make "this" kind of track", it just doesnt work for me.

No one takes Chase and Status seriously. They are like some kind of cartoon.
I would love to hear Liam have a stab at doing a dubstep track. To be honest I think The Prodigys output has been a but stale sinch Fat Of The Land.
Maybe he just needs a switch in genre to get the creative juices flowing again. It worked for Kryptic Minds......
I sort of agree, although I am fond of 'Omen'...'Warriors Dance' and 'Take Me To The Hospital' off the Invaders Must Die album. I am a Prodigy fan though. You could make a sick Dubstep version of Warriors Dance. Has anyone done that yet???

I wouldn't say Chase & Status are DnB specialists. I actually have some vinyls of their's from 2004 that were more along the lines of Dubstep/8 Bar! I can't remember the names though cos they are white labels.
And for my 2 cents, I think Prodigy Dubstep would sound awful! They don't have the low end production capability. They should stick to giving tracks to remixers and not risk ruining their reputation.
Ok fair enough. Wouldn't hurt though as a little bonus track? Maybe if he releases a new single and does a Dubstep remix as a B-side. These are just dreams anyway. lol
