Rare Grime Vinyl?

Post by brasco » Fri Apr 23, 2010 7:35 am

Just like in Dubstep with your limited presses/DMZ's etc, are there any particularly rare/sort after Grime vinyls from back in the day?

Going to have a sort out soon and Just wondering if I need to take more care with any records, or ones I should look to keep hold of?

Possibly the Alias's (Gladiator 1), original Wiley presses, apart from that i dont know :?

imo its some of the random bootlegs that are very rare. Oddz, Dump Valve and Star Signs records are not that hard to come by.

I've been looking for 'Danny Weed vs. Whitney Houston - It's Not Creeper But It's Ok', I'm sure if you have that you'd be getting a bit for it. I think that was a really limited pressing.

i got that. plus creeper. well proud of my grime collection.

think most old grime vinyls r pretty rare, especially the white labels. how much people will pay for them tho kind of depends on how sought after the tracks are, n with the state of grime's popularity right now (compared to dubstep for example) u probably aren't gonna get massive offers for the classics.

for example, wk001: 'I Will Not Lose' is £7-15 on discogs, wheras dmz001 is £65-75. its a shame cos i think a lot of those early grime tunes broke more ground than anything out of the uk in the last 10-15 yrs IMHO. altho not sure how many grime heads r on discogs, it seems more popular with the dubsteppers from what i've seen.

Cheers for that. My Sine of the Dub is a white label though. (But it is in a black disco bag.) Would be curious to find out how much it is worth, but it is a nice part of my collection from a great era of dubstep.

I also have the whitney versus creeper vinyl, but my recollection is that it is a shit bootleg pressing, there might be a better pressing of it out there somewhere however.
