Actually, call it a discussion topic ;)

The point being: why should the existence of SOME clichéd 140bpm music force people, including many great DJs / producers, to write off a whole tempo with such a great back catalogue of tunes... I don't understand it.

The majority of new music I buy is still 140. Just cos there is a lot of rubbish doesn't mean there is no talent. I'd say 140 is as alive as its ever been, if not more so

lots of great stuff from 120 to 160. 140 is the pivot to this.

the crossroads where 4x4, 2step, breakbeat, and halfstep all work brilliantly... it really is the pivot.
makes for some awesome mixing
will have to check this one out after work

heard a lot of "dubstep is dead" like comments. they soon shut the fuck up when you put the latest cluekid record on though.

it's blackdown's fault haha.

140 is just a tempo. I think more specifics will be required before I step up in this thread. Will need to listen to the mix first, catch you later tonight...

People say its dead just because another tempo/style has taken the limelight. Doesn't mean top tunes aren't coming out.

After listening to the mix, I can say but one thing:

WHEN AND WHERE IS THAT EARLYBIRD TUNE COMING.

Earlybird has a MASSIVE stack of dubs lined up... think he's weighing up options on releasing...

then again, 140 is a pretty standard tempo isn't it? A lot of pop music gets produced at 140. A lot of "slower" metal is at 140-150 'ish...I guess that's partly why dubstep appealed to so many people...

gool, get out of London.. no one heard of the new 130 bits. Not hating it's just that the 0.000000029% of the world that heard the new dubstep stuff is only 0.000000029% of the world.

Great mix
