Yesdog - Spring Seasonal (Drumstep Waltz, WIP)

Post by colinrgodsey » Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:46 pm

A work in progress, all original (minus the CTA sample). Still needs some filler in parts.

Accepting all input! Really desperate for feedback :)

You need to work on your eqing.
There are loads of clashing frequencies.
I am also noting a fair amount of distortion I`m assuming on the kick bass 130-148 you can hear it best.
Or it`s some serious phase issues.
I`d add some nice shuffly hats to give it some swing and change up the kick snare pattern occasionally.

Keep at it, you have some interesting ideas for sure.

Thanks again! Really awesome that you commented on both my tracks. Did you notice most of the clashing in the high-end? I think some of those leads clash. There's also a weird 'pulsing' that develops around 0:40 that im... confused about. The kick does suffer from some phase issues (having trouble layering kicks) and clips with a crappy limiter. I need to just layer the drums better =\ I keep relying on dynamics control when it just sounds crappy

The drums do need a lot more character, still trying to figure out something that works well in 3/4. Hopefully ill have an update soonish.

Thanks again to both of you! Very much appreciated.
