Right people......THIS is IT!! ROOTS - a brand new clubnight dedicated to bringing you the best acts in Reggae / Dubstep and Jungle, on the 2nd saturday of each month at DQ.
Once a month, we will be removing the standard speakers from upstairs at DQ and replacing them with top spec touring PA courtesy of sheffields own <20Hz Soundsystem, bringing to you the BEST quality sound you will experience inside a club in sheffield right now. Alongside a full camo decor, live art displays, smoking area entertainment and t-shirts, cd's and merch on sale from local artists and designers, this is what roots is about...UNDERGROUND MUSIC [] HIGH QUALITY AUDIO [] STRICTLY NICE VIBES!!!

DJ/Producer J:Kenzo is a sought after player within the Dubstep scene. Dub Dread Vibes with echoes of Jungle and Techno reflect in both his Productions and DJ Sets, which are built to test the toughest of Soundsystems and rock the hardest of dancefloors.
J:Kenzo takes pride in his DJ sets with a heavyweight selection applying seemless blending and double drop mixing.
His first vinyl release 'Tekno Bass' dropped in 2008 and from then he has seen his productions appear on some of the founding labels in the Dubstep scene such as Dub Police, Argon Records, 2nd Drop and his own imprint Soul Shakerz.
In Late 2010 his tracks caught the ear of veteren Dubstep DJ and Tempa A&R man DJ Youngsta.
With support from Youngsta, J:Kenzo's 2011 production 'The Roteks' was received by Dubstep audiences world wide with great anticipation. Sparking mass debates on internet forums and social networking sites as to the forthcoming release, which soon happened under the pioneering Dubstep label Tempa.
This release backed with flipside 'Protected' boosted Kenzo's name within the scene and has had support from many of the top selectors within Dubstep such as Hatcha, N-Type, Distance and Emalkay to name a few, as well as veteren Techno DJ Laurent Garnier.
More recently J:Kenzo has been approached by BBC 1Xtra to carry out a fortnightly 1 Hour mix for Mistajam's Daily Dose of Dubstep section. Showcasing exclusive dubplates and Kenzo's take on the sound he is pushing from the Dubstep scene.
His fan base, commitment and professional approach has seen his touring pick up with huge pace.
With resident sets at leading Dubstep night 'FWD' and London's prestigious 'Fabric' nightclub, touring a number of cities around Europe as well as stretching out to the United States you'll find the heat is steadily rising around the Kent-based selector.
SLEEPER

Sleeper’s rise to prominence in 2011 has been meteoric, establishing himself as one of the hardest hitting producers in dubstep with his dark and grim steppers heard assaulting sound systems worldwide. Alex, representing Coventry, works at a prolific rate and a slew of fresh dubplates can be heard aired exclusively each week on both Distance’s and Youngsta’s legendary rinse FM shows, two of the biggest names in the game who are both renowned for selecting only the finest cuts of bassweight.
Sleeper’s music encapsulates what many love about dubstep’s traditional sound, placing a key emphasis on sub frequencies, minimal track composition and intricately constructed soundscapes and textures. His efforts were quickly signed by Chestplate recordings head honcho Dj Distance, and along with sometimes collaborator District they have joined elite company in releasing on the highly regarded and seminal label. Sleeper’s inaugural plate has created fevered excitement in the community with the colossal Scanners, Zombies and Narrow soon to be an essential component in DJ’s record bags.
JUNGLIST ALLIANCE
Hailing from Sheffield a handful of local DJs and MCs with a common interest in music came together to form the Junglist Alliance.....Local radio slots and club bookings followed – but it was their joint promotion Jungle Juice, run in both Sheffield and Manchester that gave the Junglist Alliance a strong position in the Northern scene.....The Junglist Alliance is getting stronger and stronger. Link upS with Jungle / Reggae acts Daddy Freddy, DBO General and Bongo Chilli are growing stronger, and their Sheffield-based events are unstoppable! Having smashed out raves all over Europe they had taken a little break...until now.....Sheff legends within there own rights, back once again to show the steel city how and why they are called "THE JUNGLIST ALLIANCE"

DUBCENTRAL is purely about ALL TRIBES coming together to listen to conscious, uplifting and vibrant music. Listeners are from all backgrounds, male and female, from teenagers to 84 year old grannies, and all leave with same smile on their face! It has to be said that the crowd and atmoshere is something very special in there sessions and one of the big reasons that Dubcentral is getting such a good reputation on the national scene.
