Continuing on a rootical path MindStep Music is proud to bring you a new 5-track excursion from Adam Prescott. Having already made his mark on the UK scene receiving serious rotation from Mistajam and Ras Kwame on the radio and heavy support from the likes of Skream, Hatcha, N-Type and Jakes – as well as support from foundational UK reggae artists like Iration Steppa’s and remix work for Mungo’s Hi Fi – Adam’s tracks are rough and tough roots music with a modern injection of dubstep flavours.
Mystic Dub kicks off the EP warm and easy with a stand-out skank and low down bassline, complemented with authentic drum work and striking melodic leads – this track is a clear indication of things to come on this release! Triumphant delayed trumpets and a more subtle skank join with a distinctively digital bass section and rolling 4X4 kicks on Revival, showing a clear steppers influence but maintaining a heartical roots vibe.
Serving up another rolling stepper in the form of Roots and Future, Adam again executes skilled percussive edits that combine with a more mellow bass sound and a catchy melody. Rootical is a more straightforward dubstep arrangement with digi-dread pads but retains Adam’s future dub lick, a dancefloor favourite here no doubt!
To bring The Mystic EP to a close, nothing could be more fitting than an accomplished root-wise stepper, and Subwise is just that – more digital influences and a strong horn mid section roll into tribal drums and an earthquake sub. Get ready for some Adam Prescott fiyaaa!

Stepping up to provide the 3rd EP for MindStep Music are the exciting production and DJ duo Tommy Rukus and Jammo from London & Bristol respectively, collectively known as My Nu Leng.
Both are relative newcomers to the UK garage/dubstep scene and because of their fresh ideas and interpretation of underground bass music, they are already drawing attention from some key players, such as Distance (Rinse Fm / Island Records / Dubstep Allstars Vol
.Opening the EP, Find You has a melancholy but soothing intro, broken 2 step beats easing out from under what could be the chirping of digital birdsong. Haunting, cut up vocals bring the elements together to form a deep lament, pure vibes!
Next comes the old skool garage-esque Fireflies; sub aquatic FX and staggered, marching percussion rolling into the drop where lurching, cavernous bass and stomping percussion explode! This track will set any dance off and is sure to become a DJs favourite.
The third track, Bubba Ho-Tep, begins with a dreamy blissed out feel and percussive pitter patter – real meditation vibes! The 2nd drop reveals soft pads, strings, reverb drenched vocal FX and a rolling kick that produces a warm roller… Also featuring on this EP is the significant talent of Kaiju, providing a stripped back, spacious interpretation for their Bubba Ho-Tep Remix. Taking a more subbed out approach, they supplement the sparse soundscape with rasping bass licks and progressive percussive hits, forming suspense, and a somewhat darker mood than the original.
Lastly, Falling is a deep-rooted and tribal dub-techno roller, setting the scene for some sort of ancient battle. Equally powerful in the club or in headphones during a long journey, it gracefully brings the debut outing from the Leng boys to a close…

Our second solo EP comes from 18 year old Bandicoot, a gifted young producer originally of Welsh & Austrian descent, but living in Berkshire, UK. Studying musical theory and playing instruments from a young age, he has turned to digital means to create soundscapes and use the spacious tempo of dubstep to construct dark, grimey and affecting tracks. MindStep Music proudly presents… Left Behind EP.
The first track In A Moment has a smooth summer’s evening vibe to it, soft keys bathed in reverb and dreamy pads produce a soothing chill-out track and a great introduction to the EP. Moving into the darker sounds of Dawn, the listener is drawn into a dark alleyway of fearsome bass sweeps and delayed percussive FX.
Continuing the journey through Bandicoot’s sound the third track, Left Behind, blends haunting but hopeful tones and striking flutes with rolling shakers, earth-shattering snare hits and a weighty sub to match.
Mayan shifts into more tribal, almost glitched-out beats and breaks out into a lively dance-floor skanker which will surely have the listener tapping their feet!
Finally, Legend4ry steps up for remix duties to give us his twist on Dawn in the shape of his Stampede Mix. Transforming the original with shrill, edgy melodies and shuffling break-beats, he creates a dark rumbling riddim which rounds off the EP.

The man responsible for MindStep Music’s first EP release is 25 year old
Yu Ono AKA Dubtro from Tokyo, Japan. Citing German electronica and abstract hip hop artists among his many musical influences, his sound began to take shape after attending a Mala gig while he was touring Japan.
As his dubstep productions began to progress, his demos were noticed by respected Deep Medi artist Goth Trad and he was invited to DJ at Back To Chill. We are proud to present the debut release from Dubtro.
Opening the EP, ‘Forgot Past Storage’ combines lounge keys and laid back textures which sit on warm sub notes. All the components build into a head nodding meditational roller that creates a deep electronic lullaby for the listener…
Lift’in Off is a brooding minimal beast that creeps out from haunting pads and stabbing percussive hits developing into a dark, enchanting sub bass tapestry.
Suspense slowly building from swirling pads through the intro of Horrid Murk is met with a rumbling sub every bit as murky as the title suggests. Additional percussive elements, eerie samples and dark hoover FX give the track a progressive feel as it culminates in dreamy mysterious bliss.
The closing track comes in the form of Hatred, calmly drifting atmospheres in the intro give way to a dark growling bass and haunting stabs… a weighty dancefloor riddim!
