7.3% isn't really that strong over here, we've got beers that go up to 12%firky wrote:What's your favourite ales? Porters, stouts, cider and scrumpy, larger and anything from Australia is not welcome![]()

Yeah, most of your stuff would probably be called barley wine rather than beer. They're all English beers, and I have had strong ales over here up to 10%, they're usually guest ales and are quite rare as most people like Stella and Carling over herefretn wrote: 7.3% isn't really that strong over here, we've got beers that go up to 12%
where do these come from?
I haven't had many encounters with british beers...firky wrote:Yeah, most of your stuff would probably be called barley wine rather than beer. Yeah I'm in the same boat. I know fuck all about proper ale, so I just drink vodka like a woman if I'm out, but drinking more than 2 doubles every half an hour leads to heart burn central. Ket is much easier if I wanna get messed up, fuck alcohol.the acid never lies wrote:All you connoisseurs![]()
I would probably drink more ale if I knew the first thing about it - I'd feel too silly ordering something if I had no idea what it was which is strange cos I only get that paranoia in the pub
