In what god do you believe, and why?

You probably couldn't find many differences between me and an atheist, but to actually classify myself i'd say deist. My favorite text concerning this is Thomas Paine's "Age of Reason". That said, I think you can take many good things out of many religions, they all have their lessons.

a pantheist is I and I and you and her and it and that and those.
the one pervades all, there is no godhead and religion is about the experience of self.

You can still have pantheism and more than one constituent entities ala Wicca, where there are female and male archetypes. This is similar to the Ying and Yang of Daoism which in turn is similar to modern physics of the energy = matter calculations for the physical contigency of the universe (matter and anti-matter).
There is no 'self' in pantheism as the self is a constituent part of the universe, religion is about experience as a contingent part of the greater whole. Islam is often quoted as 'pantheistic' as Allah is supposedly the universe but it is actually more accurately panentheistic as followers are separate from Allah.

Hellenic monotheisms (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) are anthropomorphic, i.e. the deity is sentient and controls everything. I side with pantheism and the universe is as it is, therefore I have more responsibility for my own life and others.

Everything we will ever know exists within the realms of the universe. It is too big to really imagine and will never be fully comprehended.
It is within this realm that every single one of us was conceived, it is in this realm that we all shall die. The universe designed us intelligently. The universe designed everything intelligently.
There is no God of the book, the universe is god or buddah or vishnu or whatever you want to call it for an earthly label does no justice to the reality that it is the single most awe inspiring thing imaginable.

I don't believe in religious doctrines.

looking at global history makes religion a glaringly obvious system of mass control. leaders of early civilizations used ideological control to remain in positions of power and utilize the population to their advantage. later on it became a means of economic prosperity and political fearmongering tool.

i believe energy and spirit exists in the world, there are things about the universe that we will never understand, and to some extent many of the ideas in some eastern religions. but i think organized religion is mostly evil and outdated.
