New here, only just started fiddling with dubstep after making dnb, hardcore, trance, breaks, ambient for the past 15 odd years. I've had a few commercial releases on Indiscriminate Records, Fuzed and Warped Science from my more, erm, hardcore days, and an ambient EP on iTunes. Frankly I love pretty much all genres of music, but I enjoy mixing things together, especially ones I know nothing about. I'm here to learn and meet people to work with :)

What DAW do you use?
- Cubase 5 (although I own Cubase 3 and 4 and Reason)

How long have you been producing for?
- 15 years

What VSTs do you favour?
- Massive, Battery 3, Kontakt 3/4, Atmosphere, FM8

What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
- Erm??? Nobody

Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
- Future Sound Of London, Noisia, Global Communications, Mozart, Leftfield, A Perfect Circle, Tool, BT, Radiohead...the list goes on and on

Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)
- Remote, but if you are in Austin, TX I'm super happy to co-locate

What is the best way of contacting you (PM/IM/email - obviously provide the email/IM address if it's the latter)

Jules Taylor
www.projules.com

What DAW do you use?
Logic Pro, Reason 5 (RW'ed)

How long have you been producing for?
I've instructed a college level synth class for the last three years, but have only in the last year started actually wanting to produce entirely in the electronic realm.

What VSTs do you favour?
Massive, Albino, ES2, Pro-53, Alchemy.

What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
I'm really trying to create pop-dub-step. Like ear candy with synths. Act like you know, Skrillex's remix of Nero's Promises, reflect the sound I'm aiming for.

Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep).
I spent a few years producing singer-songwriters and alternative rock bands, working in various studios. Coming from the musician world, I tend to embrace the verse/chorus pop-song-writing format. There are little bits and pieces from various tracks I assimilate into my tracks.

Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL?
Remote is fine, and if you're around the Nashville area then that's cool too.

What is the best way of contacting you?

Renoise.

How long have you been producing for?
Since November 2009. Never stopped since.

What VSTs do you favour?
DSK Music's stuff, the Itchy Synths, and ExpDigital's stuff... but I avoid VST's when possible and stick to native Renoise DSPs

What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
Reso, Matta, Goreshit, Beckett (DnB artist, not the rock group), Koan Sound

Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
Susumu Hirasawa, If These Trees Could Talk, Labores Somnium, She, INvbaei, Leigon, Curve, Matta, Medicine, Reso, Beckett, Slowdive, 16 Bit, Cocteau Twins, Goreshit, Rururu, LOLI RIPE, My Bloody Valentine, Lolishit, Swallow, Lovesiiescrushing, and a host of others

What DAW do you use?

Cubase 5 though i've got SX3 kicking around for back compatibility.

How long have you been producing for?

Since I first got my humble copy of Acid Pro at the age of 14....so 8 years.

What VSTs do you favour?

For synths: About 15 instances of Z3TA. Though I do have Kontakt, Massive, Albino, Blue, Predator kicking around.
For plugs: I <3 fabfilter Pro-C, the classic autofilter, fabfilter twin(or is it volcano), anything by audio damage (kombinat is a must), Waves Mercury bundle, PSP VintageWarmer 1.6, Lexicon Pantheon. Ohh and I like that MidiShaper ting too

What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?

Welll.....I'm signed to MindStep Music...so for the chilled side of things that's what I go for....I guess you could relate to Kryptic Minds, Tunnidge, Biome, Quantum Soul, Ruskpin/Quark and all the Ranking boys, Rob Sparx...but I love producing heavier music too, more along the lines of stuff from Audio Freaks, Boka, Urban Graffiti, etc.

Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)

I'm a drummer/guitarist/DJ thingy. So i'm influenced by early metal, tech metal, jazz, lots of blues, grunge, blah blah...moving up to IDM like Squarepusher, Nitin Sawhney (or however u spell it) Boards of Canada....through to artists like Reso, Riskoteque, Noisia (obviously) and more...I've Generally got a wide range of influences, I`ve been making music in various forms for around 13 years...but they are influences, I do my best not to outright copy!

Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)

Would prefer remote due to a shit internet connection and an antisocial job!

What DAW do you use?

Reaper, i also own Reason.

How long have you been producing for?

about 4 years now, but only seriously since i signed up here.

What VSTs do you favour?

Alchemy, Campelphat/Space, Kontakt, PSP Vintagewarmer, Battery.

What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?

uh... depends, really. i'd say check the sc links in my signature and see for yourself?
i'm very much into atmospheric stuff, either more ambient/chilled or dark/industrial sounding so that's what i'm aiming for.

Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)

i love early hotflush stuff, the more break-oriented style of dubstep in general be it ambient like vaccine or dark like vex'd or distance.
i'm also very much into late 90's atmospheric jungle, photek especially. i like early techstep and neurofunk too.
other genres i enjoy a lot are funk, minimal/detroit techno, uk funky and grime.

Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)

remote, i'm in germany after all. no email-collab though please.

What is the best way of contacting you (PM/IM/email - obviously provide the email/IM address if it's the latter)

EZ guys, i'm bored and have some time off work this week, so looking to do a remix or potentially collab with someone over the next few days. Open to hitting me with some stems or swapping project files.

What DAW do you use? Ableton Live 8

How long have you been producing for? In total around 3 or 4 years

What VSTs do you favour? For synths, unashamedly a Massive whore, but also have Cakewalk Z3Ta+, FM8 and handy with Ableton's Operator synth. I use a range of VSTs, very keen on the free TAL plugins and am a massive fan of the FabFilter range which I have

What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound? I love all kinds of different sounds. All ranges of dubstep from Deep Medi to Circus, I believe there's a time and place for it all, i've produced dubstep and DnB tracks to reflect all spectrums of both genres. Basically I just love bass of all descriptions

Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep) Skream is definitely my biggest influence inside dubstep. He's capable of turning his hand to a range of different vibes and I like to think I can as well, albeit not quite as good as Skream! Outside of dubstep - I grew up on Pink Floyd and are definitely one of my personal biggest musical heroes of all time. I'm very rock influenced. I come from a DnB background so very influenced from there too. DJ Fresh, Bad Company, Hive, Roni Size, Mampi Swift, Moving Fusion... I could go on naming DnB influences of mine forever lol

Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location) Location not a big deal to me, happy to link up if you're close but was thinking more along the lines of bouncing stems and project files to each other

What is the best way of contacting you (PM/IM/email - obviously provide the email/IM address if it's the latter) PM me, email me at sparxyuk@yahoo.com or grab me on AIM: SparxyUK is my username
