Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use
FL Studio 10
How long have you been producing for?
- Played piano for 9 years
- Use to compose for my high school symphony
- Was in percussion/drumline for 4 years
- Been messing about Fruity Loops since FL 3 (like 2001), but just recently started taking it seriously, so i'd say i've been producing for maybe a year-ish.
What VSTs do you favour?
- NI Massive
- Zeta +
- Effectrix
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
I like to make more of the hench-esque type tunes, but haven't "defined" my sound yet.
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
- DCI Drum Corps
- Early 90's rap
- Old-school funk/jazz
- Stinkahbell
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL?
Remote, unless theres someone around Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA...
What is the best way of contacting you?
- Aim - radleydubstep
- email - jbrad630@aol.com

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use?
Logic 9
How long have you been producing for?
Making music since I was about 9, started making tunes on computers when I was about 15/16 but only started getting interested in the technical side about a year ago (I'm now 20).
What VSTs do you favour?
Massive and Absynth mostly most but I like to intermittently dive into other random synths to see what sounds I can get out of them and chop up.
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
Not really thought about it - Would say I am influenced a lot by DMZ, Tempa, Osiris, Chestplate - you know the deal.
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
Burial - For being able to transmit atmosphere so well
Mala - For his truthfulness to music
Thom Yorke - For his musicality
J Dilla - For being innovative
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)
Not Fussed - in person preferred but I live in northern Scotland right now.
What is the best way of contacting you (PM/IM/email - obviously provide the email/IM address if it's the latter)
PM is fine.

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use?
Ableton 8
How long have you been producing for?
I mean I've been playing music since I started violin in preschool, but actual producing through Ableton has been about 3 years. Dubstep/any sort of electronic stuff? About a month.
What VSTs do you favor?
Sylenth, FM8, Massive, Pianissimo, Guitar Rig
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
As far as electronic stuff goes, I lean toward Dodge & Fuski/Nero and most upbeat, melodic brostep (Never Say Die/OWSLA) mixed with Avicii-esque hooks. I try to make it as frustratingly catchy and brutal as possible. I'm also obsessed with cheesy synths.
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
Inside Dub:Dodge & Fuski, Skrillex, Zomboy, 12th Planet, Nero, Knife Party, Excision, Flux Pavillion, etc...
Outside:Sigur Ros, cky, andrew wk, avicii, maybeshewill, ulrich Schnauss, tomahawk, mr bungle, this will destroy you, New Order, abba, sopor aeternus, smash mouth, scissor sisters, shining, scale the summit, opeth, russian circles, flaming lips, clutch, ratatat, Mono, elo, earth wind and fire, pin up went down, mike patton, periphery, buckethead, olafur arnalds, mogwai, my bloody valentine, mastodon, ludovico einaudi, jonsi, devin townsend, isis...we could do this all day. As far as what's influenced my sound the most, post-rock has been huge for me as well as new wave. Epic buildups and catchy synths, what more do you need?
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)
Either is fine by me, I live in DC for reference...a land where dubstep's huge and no one's producing it.
What is the best way of contacting you (PM/IM/email - obviously provide the email/IM address if it's the latter)
Email definitely cause my phone's always on me, but pm would work as would facebook (I think I'm the only Attila Yavuzer on earth)

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use?
Reaper for producing, Ableton for live stuff.
How long have you been producing for?
Fucking around in Audacity since '08, actually producing for about a year.
What VSTs do you favour?
Albino 3 is my main synth, but Massive is used sometimes too.
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
I guess Burial, Synkro, Boards of Canada, James Blake and the R&S crew.
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
Besides the artists already mentioned, I'm really into 90's Alt Rock (Modest Mouse), early Emo and Screamo (Cap'n Jazz, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc.), Post-Rock, Alt Folk (Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith), and Punk/Hardcore. Dubstep-wise, I'm into the the DMZ, Tempa, Hyperdub, and Deep Medi sounds, as well as lots of Post-Dubstep and Future Garage.

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW Do You Use? I use Fl studio.
How long have you been producing?
I have been producing since May of last year, so about 10 months.
I have been playing guitar and bass for 2 years
Trombone for 2 and a half years
Drums for 2 years
Cello for about 4 months
I also have a huge knowledge when it comes to theory
What Vst's do you favour?
I use NI Massive usually, I use FM8 aswell. Also direct wave is always in use.
Influences
I take a lot of influence from classical music. I also take some from Jazz, Metal and Funk. There is some hip-hop too, but only a little.
What type of collaboration would this be?
Most likely a remote collab as I am 14 and my parents would let older people from a forum come to my house and vica versa.
What is the best way of contacting me?
Just send me a PM and we will go from there.
Take a look at my signature and also http://www.youtube.com/user/SoundNuisan ... ature=mhee

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use?
Ableton Live 8, also got logic (but not as good in it as in ableton).
How long have you been producing for?
Producing, I started back in January of 2011 for the first time. I'd say seriously working on my skills around 6-7 months.
From before I played classical guitar, piano and electric guitar. I'm a huge metalhead and etc...
What VSTs do you favour?
... NI Massive, FM8, Absynth, Alchemy, Predator, Razor (only started getting into it now).
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
Koan Sound, Delta Heavy, Nero (and many more). (Also don't forget I'm into ambient dubstep as well, so phaeleh, burial)
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
Metal and rock have had a big impact on how I view EDM. I also believe the way forward with dubstep is trancestep. A big fan of metalcore, deathcore and pretty much any kickass track that will make me want to mosh!
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)
Remote is always easier, but if not remote then I live in central London.

Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)
Remote I guess

What DAW do you use?
FL STUDIO 10
How long have you been producing for?
I've been teaching myself for almost three years now
What VSTs do you favour?
Sytrus is my main thang. I can use just about any VST that comes with FL
not much of a massive guy however
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
I sound a little mau5ey to say the least. very melodic and rhythmic.
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
hmm... mostly deadmau5 and Feed Me and others like Dada Life, Daft Punk, Wolfgang Gartner, Afrojack, Felguk, Ajapai, and MSTRKRFT
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL?
which ever works. I'm in the 503

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use?
I use Logic 9.
How long have you been producing for?
-I've played jazz guitar for 6 or 7 years and know a lot about music theory
-I play a little piano and guitar on the side
-I started producing in early 2011, and I devote every spare minute of my time to it.
What VSTs do you favour?
I use NI Massive heavily for basses, as well as some pads. Other than that, it's stock logic synths. I use the ES2 for a lot of pads. As far as drums go, I don't use the ultrabeat (although I do know my way around it). I like to lay out my drums in the arrange view.
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
I really love to produce anything and everything under the sun, so I'm really open to anything. However, the style of music that I generally like to make is somewhere along the vein of Phaeleh and Burial, but I also sometimes like to make tunes in the style of Distance and Kryptic Minds, among others. Again, I want to stress that I'm really open to any style, I just like to produce that sort of stuff in my own time.
Influences ?
(in no particular order) Burial, Distance, Skream, Phaeleh, Mala, Kryptic Minds, Dark Sky.
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL?
Either way is great, I have absolutely no problem with long distance.
What is the best way of contacting you?
Using any medium would be fine, I'll most probably get back to you soon. The best way would be to PM me or email me at guitarskidraw@comcast.net

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread
What DAW do you use?
cubase 5
How long have you been producing for?
in all about 3 years with various genres
What VSTs do you favour?
i tend to use albino, massive, neon, hypersonic@nexus for my instruments, i tend to experiment with alot of freeware plugins and see what i can get from them
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
i take a lot of influence from EL -B, groove chronicals, benga, skream, all the dmz guys, king tubby, mad professor, babbylon system. i take alot of my musical influence from gospel music, and worship rnb, as thats the sound i deeply love. in alot of my tracks i keep the dub elements.
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location) would probably have to be an online collab, unless people are local

What DAW do you use?
FL Studio 10
How long have you been producing for?
2 1/2 Years with one EP released and one in development.
What VSTs do you favour?
I use A LOT of VST's: Tone2 Gladiator, Synlenth1, NI's Massive, NI's FM8, Scanned Synth Pro, NI's Absynth 4, Nexus (Religously) and sometimes Albino 3 There may be more but those are what I focus on the most.
What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound?
Thats hard to say. I could say a mix between Excision and Mt Eden but again that doesn't paint a really good picture of the sound. Powerful melodies clashing with Destruction would be a good way to put it. Our style is the same to an audience but most producers will hear the difference in style.
Influences (both inside & outside of Dubstep)
Numbernin6, RY Legit, Skism, Skream, Mt Eden, and tons of stress that is let out on my tracks. I believe that without an emotion there is no music. Thats why rich kids who don't have a care in the world and make music for the radio are crap. Emotionless music is like crying or yelling for no reason at all. Just doesn't make sense. Another influence is the love for music and the want to innovate it further. Our team doesn't NEED money or FAME. It would be nice yes, but we'd rather change peoples lives and not waste fame.
Would this be a remote collaboration, or would you prefer someone to work with IRL? (NB - if IRL, please state location)
We can do it remotely or IRL depending on your location. We have all the equipment for whoever to work with us from where they are and it won't be a problem if you prefer this at first.

So if you're interested we'd love to take a look at your stuff. Were open to ideas and varying styles. Don't hesitate contacting us if you think your not up to par with our skills or vise versa. We can always help you get there.
Our requirements are as follows:
Daw: FL Studio 9 or 10
Skill level: Preferably Intermediate to Pro but just because you may be crap at producing doesn't mean that you won't be a great artist once you learn (trust me we will hear the difference.) So beginners are welcome as well.
Must Have: Stable Internet (We'll tell you why once contacted.), and Headphones that aren't complete crap. (Studio moniters aren't required for starters.).
Much Love,
Connor/Zeta
