Hey there,

I need your help making a synth that is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful synths (+melody) of all time (I can listen to it in loop lol). It's from a psy trance track. Back when I produced psy-trance (5 years ago), I tried to replicate it and got a nice patch but nowhere as deep as the one in the video, but I lost it in my junky backups. The only thing I remember is that it started with a pure high pitched sine wave. Now I retried it but it's sounding like sh#t.

Here's the video (melody starts at 3:09, after the "take 4 red capsules" sample):

From what I heard (might be hoax), Talamasca uses Reaktor almost for everything, although this sounds a bit analog imho.

Big thanks in advance!

I'm trying to make an Icicle/Shogun kinda stab. You can hear it in a lot of his productions, but another good and recent example is J:Kenzo - Therapy.
<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hEcE7Bcg7Q" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>
The sound I'm after is at 0:27 +-.
Hope anyone can help me, I'm in reason, but any explanation in any DAW will work.
Thanks!
Icicle did a masterclass ages ago which is so good, you can find it if you google enough ;) it might be on youtube, but I'm not sure. You really have to hear it from him for the stuff to make sense, so much goes into the bass as well

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum.

I had a question creating a specific sound.

The sound im reffering to drops in at 1:50 in this track
http://snd.sc/vvRd5Y

And in this track it drops in at 3:16
http://snd.sc/s1hoMp

I was thinking that it's not one specific sound but multiple sounds layered.

Could anyone help me either to recreate the sound or help me towards a specific preset.

I use Fruityloops and I own Native Intsurments Massive and Sylenth1.

Thanks!

There are several ways to achieve a "woi" effect, I suggest you do some deeper searching

Culprate

Post by HalfTone » Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:55 pm

Very very interesting sounds used in this song, it sounds like the automation is working overtime in the track

Does anyone have any basic tips and tricks for this style? Or know any good tutorials or create this style themselves?

sometimes it can depend a little on the waveform but its mainly about the filter and definately the resonance, you can bandpass that shit easily.
pretty sure iv made a woi sound before its nothing difficult, just keep trying :W:

Nice one - is that the same Culprate who first busted out on Dubsaw? If so - well done. nice tune.. I was a big supporter since the first dub I got from Dubsaw.

Granular synthesis big time. This is the kind of style I've been fuckin with since I've started. Production quality is better than mine of course. Take samples of fucking ANYTHING and it can get like this. It's the same old shit mostly, you can hear filters and phasers and distortion and all. Just using "organic" sounds rather than soft-synths.

It's a supersaw layered with a good deal of whitenoise layered with an underlining heavy bass (with some grit to it). I don't have time right this second but I'll try to throw something together and see what I can come up with tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry I haven't helped anyone out on these forums so far, I'm very new to the producing world so there's little I can help with. Makes me feel like a d*** :(
Anyways, does anyone have any idea how to produce the bass drop featured at 1:08 in Nero's remix of Plan B's 'The Recluse,' and if possible, the variant of the higher-pitched at 1:13?
I think there's two different basses to make this sound but I am a n00b and as such have no idea how to make this sound.
Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Here's the patch I made. It doesn't sound quite as beefy but I'd say I got pretty close. Let me know if you want the details.

Sweet! Could you send me the patch information if you could?
