How can I get this track to sound louder?

Post by bonquiqui » Thu Nov 05, 2009 11:53 pm

http://www.zshare.net/audio/68036527bd6bea52/

thats the link, someone asked me to get it louder so it matches the rest of their tracks on their PC.?

I've tried Normalizing it, as logic pro does that anyway when bouncing, but it still is apparently to quiet. I also opened it in Audacity and their is one bit that is peaking, but it doesn't give me any reference as to what sound that is.

any ideas?

im no expert.....

but using a limiter to reduce the peaks then normalizing it would make it louder, this would also take some og the dynamics away thou.

p.s. its not ideal i know, also please someone correct me if im speaking shit

Thanks Chums!

I'm new to logic, and seem to abandon the mixer section for some reason lol, I didn't even think to add anything like maximizers or limiters

yeah, back on FL i had to open it to get to stuff, but because logic got the channel strip on the side I don't open the mixer. Its just some dumb habit I get in to when things are laid out too nicely.

Fix it during the mixing stage, not after..

He should just turn it up though.
(Haven't heard it though as zshare doesnt work right here)

Use screensets when using logic broski. If you don't know what they are, Logic has a crazy handy feature which remembers how you have your windows set up, you can toggle theese by using the number keys.

For example. I have the arrange page open on screenset one, then have the mixer on two and the piano roll on three, etc. They save alot of time and effort. I've made my own template with all my screen sets plus other handy tools.

Once you get into the habbit of using screensets, you'll remember you keep going to the mixer, after all you'll be able to do it at the touch of a button!
