It contains 50 snares, 50 kicks, 50 hats and much more - lovingly prepared by the guys over at the NuFunk.net blog: http://bit.ly/97BZ65

Actually that is not always true.

There really is no need to have 100s of different drum hits imo. I have now made sub folders in each drum folder with the hits I think are decent. If I start with them I save time and also dont get distracted from making music. If you process the hits they will sound different anyway.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Very true.

For some reason I ALWAYS end up downloading them all the time though. Cant resist a freebie!

Some hits just sound weak though, like you have to gain them up to get them to sit in the mix, but then they're way to hot. Others just wammo u, and are at a nice low db.

I listened to some of these samples on my laptop. Seems like some legit vinyl samples.

Cool.
Yeh it was just a couple of bars, was just showing the groove really. From that I can make a 4 mins and then sort intro/outro.

Delete the weak hits unless you like using weak hits. I like hard or punchy becuase thats the style I am going for. But some people like to make tracks that have a kick that is like a wet fart, but it fits with the soft track.

I must have wasted about a week of my life going thru samples :u:

Out of interest how many tracks have you released?

I use to spend ages going through samples and every time I started a new track I would do the same thing and spend ages doing the same shit over n over.

Now, I just have my drums ready, all done! I am ready to make music and put my time and energy into making a groove and a hook.

I refuse to go through presets or to move to another VST if things are not working and my production level increased overnight. Its all about the processing and having a decent structure to your track to keep it moving forward and keeping people interested for me.

People comment on my drums and thats all good, but to be honest I just picked one at random most of the time :)

Currently have 3 released and have 10 forthcoming

I enjoy the challenge of doing new drums for every tune. Sure, I have some special "go-to" drums that I use on most things but I love coming up with different tones for my drums.
It's not like my drum library isn't ordered or anything, I know exactly where to reach for particular sounds I'm after. Love having a large palette of good sounds to choose from.

I decided on the groove, but the project if foldered away, 3 tracks have come since it.

Personally, I pick my drums fresh each time. That's part of making music for me. The shape and texture of each hit is the foundation for the beat. Undoubtedly if I reused the same drums I could go faster but I'm in no hurry, with 0 released tracks, and 0 forthcoming. :)

I wanna hear those toons bro, pronto.

Yeh I have mine organized but have reduced the pile from about 1000s hits in total to about 50. Each to their own I guess:)
