What Sample Packs

Post by ShadowBoxer » Thu Oct 28, 2010 9:29 am

Hi everyone I am new to writing DubStep and would like some advice what samples to buy.
There are so many its hard to know which one to get for a good collection of sounds ect.

I am using Reason 5 which I upgraded from 4.
I also have Cubase Studio and Record.
So I guess rex files would be cool.

If anyone can help me it would be much appriciated.

Thanks.

Loopmasters are a fairly solid starting point, anything from here should do well - http://www.loopmasters.com/genre/show/49/Dubstep

Failing that, DMS also does a fairly good starter range - http://www.dancemidisamples.com/

Alternatively, if you use the search function on here for 'samples' or 'sample pack' you will get a few links coming up. Finally, you can always check Google.

You can use the VENGEANCE sample pack
http://www.vengeance-sound.com/eng/inde ... leCDs.html
All sound pretty big and fit in a mix without using Eqing!

Vegeance don't come in REX format though, only WAV.

all you really need is a good 808 sample pack, which can be found scattered all around the internet 8)

http://www.sampleswap.org/ sampleswap is also great, there's like zillion interesting samples and very inspiring old school breaks and atmospheres etc..

Yeah Loopmasters is pretty fine, I use only their non-dubstep sample cds for my productions like the DnB or (Minimal) House stuff.
Sony loops and samples are also pretty nice.

And you should check out my free sample pack, thread should be still on the first page here in this subforum:
