Free Good Orchestral Sample Packs.

Post by Assassin » Wed Jan 12, 2011 6:40 pm

http://www.philharmonia.co.uk/thesounde ... s/library/

I was originally searching for some samples.

If anyone has any Orchestral String or Choir samples I'm interested. But I am pretty happy with this find so I thought I'd share it.

Is there a giant zip file for all the samples anywhere?

If you go on the instrument, it will give you an option above the list to download the zip file.

I foresee a wave of DSF producers abandoning dubstep and suddenly spewing out massive amounts of neo-classical tracks...

Yeah, and 64 kbps at that. For some things that doesn't matter as much (certain percussion sounds w/o a lot of overtones) - and there's always re-amping, bitcrushing, etc etc. But hey, whaddya wan' fi nuttin'? Wonder if the Kontakt formatted files are higher resolution...

I've got a buddy who bought the East/West stuff to do little accents on his Black Metal project and wound up doing stuff that all sounds like film scores. Heh.

Kontakt 4 Orchestral and Worldly instruments - no need for any other samples like this ever again. They are freakin' amazing - and the way you morph the sounds so they sound epicly natural, is fucking fantastic.

Not to mention the choir samples... holy moly.

Have to check them out.
I think I have used up my sample library quota for the century though, having got East/West Symphonic Orchestra gold, RA and colossus all last year o_O.
In fairness most modern sample libraries sound good if you are willing to fork out the dollah.
They wouldn't make any money if they sounded shit.
