Percussion Synthesis

Post by Rubik » Mon Apr 04, 2011 12:34 pm

Hey guys. Anyone know of any decent (preferably free) drum synthesis applications?

I've rocked a lot of orangator and drumsynth in the past (both of which are good but have their drawbacks) and am just wondering if there's anything else worth a look.

Cheers in advance

http://www.e-phonic.com/plugins/drumatic_ve.php- Relatively simple, but free and effective.

http://www.e-phonic.com/plugins/drumatic3.php - also free, and getting more advanced.

http://www.araldfx.com/ - I used the DKS thing before. It says "all sales suspended". strange. The version I used was really good. It's a pay thing, but I don't think it was that much, and its got like membrane modelling and everything. Lot's of options, very powerful.

and of course:
http://www.image-line.com/documents/drumaxx.html - pretty good, not as good as the one above, IMO. I think this was $100.

For 100$, I'd rather have one of these:
http://www.vintagesynth.com/kawai/xd5.php

It's all about layering simple sounds.
