Who's doing it, does it actually make a difference?
Been thinking about getting set up to do that, but I'm trying to decide if it's worth the trouble. Thoughts?
Advanced question: anyone using the dangerous 2-bus LT? Thoughts on that piece of kit?
Pros... Supposedly makes everything sound a bit better...
Cons... Makes the recording process more complicated, and adds a lot of potential for minor bugs in the recording process.

Re: Let's talk about analog summing
The least of one's worries IMO. For that money you could get something that makes much more of a difference...

Re: Let's talk about analog summing
although i dont use a summing mixer because i think they are too expensive, i do run my stuff through an old analog soundcraft board from the early 80s if im producing in my DAW. it definitely adds a nice character to the sound and is a cheap alternative, it adds a bit of grit and warmth to the sound if your willing to sacrifice sound quality it could be something to consider!

Re: Let's talk about analog summing
it does make a difference, and the dangerous labs stuff is great but there are definitely other things that will make a bigger difference for the amount of money one of those cost. for example: quality monitoring environment (soundproofing, room tuning etc), good monitors, good plugins, good preamps, good microphones, quality hardware bus compressor, etc
Re: Let's talk about analog summing
w/o a doubt the least-important link in the chain, and entirely dependent on the quality of your I/O conversion.
