inverting phase
hey guys, read somewhere I can do a 'phase invert' to a song which will give me an acapella.
Anyone know how it's done?

Re: inverting phase
invert phase on the instrumental, lay it on top of the vocal version, and hopefully you get it. Tho if they are separately mastered you won't probably get shit.
Re: inverting phase
pretty much hit or miss then haha -.-
Re: inverting phase
I posted a YouTube video on here a while ago that explains it. Have a search and you should be able to find it.
Re: inverting phase

Re: inverting phase
cheers wub and flatfaced will give that a watch

Re: inverting phase
in audacity another (even more crappy) way to do this is split the stereo track of the full song with the vocals into two mono tracks and invert one of them.

Re: inverting phase
I think where hes going with that one is most vocal tracks are dead centered. this method tho and any other method without having a perfectly matched instrumental are shit.
