While it's not strictly about wanting to make a sound and having no clue at all, but more of a technical question on sound design, I thought I might as well post it here instead of the new help me make this sound thread.
I've been making progress in my journey, trying to recreate the so-called 'dungeon' sound.
However, I need to make my sound more 'alive'.
Wub mentioned earlier that using z-plane filters is a great advantage, so I wanted to give it a try, but I can't seem to find any free z-plane VST's.
Ofc, I won't give up, so I am considering buying one, if I am able to find one.
Are there any other z-plane filter VST's/techniques that can recreate the effect of a z-plane out there?
I would love to test one before spending a lot of money in a soft synth.
On the other hand, there are hardware samplers.
I do not have ANY experience with hardware considering music production whatsoever, so call me a noob if you want, but I just want to know these things

The thing is, are those E-MU X2/X3 hardware samplers any good for recreating this sound?
I do not want to spend a lot of money on something which isn't going to help me producing the things I want.
Thanks in advance for any serious responses, I feel bad for making a special topic about this, but there's just so few information on these things!
