For any of you that are familiar with pro tools
Anyone know if there is a way to use a different audio interface, as long as I still have my m-box plugged in? it doesnt show up in my audio I/0 in pro tools. My m-box's headphone jack is screwed up.
Re: For any of you that are familiar with pro tools
you can use the new Pro Tools 9 with any interface

My vrm box has an SPDIF, but the output on the mbox is screwed up so i dont think it would make a difference. i dont really understand how spdif works though.IC0N wrote:Couldnt you do it through spdif?

yeah some sort of digital i/o; unless you're on PT9, you need to use digidesign's proprietary hardware.

PT9 is native, works now with any soundcard
Re: For any of you that are familiar with pro tools
Unless you have pro tools 9, i'm afraid you're stuck with digidesign or M-audio hardware, depending on your version.
Digidesign just liked to be sizan pre pt9 that way...

Does pro tools 9 have a discounted price for pt8 users? Im gonna have to wait though because the final cut pro suite were using at school uses 8. I would like to upgrade thoguh
Re: For any of you that are familiar with pro tools
To put it simply, nope. Unless you wanna open your Mbox and short the output cables to the input then use Jack to route those to another interface. And even that I'm unsure of as it's so far fetched.

Yeah, its a bummer that its out of my price range. Maybe ill just save for it idk. My school isn't using it yet either so I would be able to use my songs on the school computers. Pt9 academic says it has free upgrades for 4a years, but im assuming pt10 doesn't count.Depone wrote:Protools 10 literally just releasedManic Harmonic wrote:I decided to get PT9. im geting the academic version for 120.tried to get an "extended demo" version so i didnt have to wait for shipping but it didnt work. im excited though, the purple flash screen is just so badass.
