I have always found this kind of element in music completely addictive but I have tried for a very long time and gotten no where. is there anyone that can give me an idea of what these producers do to get that choppy feel that still seems to tie everything together (mainly weighing on madeon here, he is fucking remarkable)

Thats glitchy?
It just sounds like triggering small pieces of audio clumped up together in the sequencer. Pretty basic glitchy sounds.

A few other songs with that style, which I also love!
Justice - Phantom II and Genesis

Glitch Mob - Derezzed remix

I've only ever gotten close to sounding like this once, and I did it slightly different from them as well. What I believe they do is take samples, synthesizers, drums etc. flatten them all down to their core audio and chop them up so that the start of a sample will land the same time the kick hits, and then whatever plays in that space of time stops when the snare hits. That way it feels super punchy.
I hope that makes sense lol.

Re: getting that complex glitch style.
if your going to be having samples hopping all over the place make sure theyre in the same key so they flow better, other than that it just comes down to having the right things in the right places to make it a good rhytm
Re: getting that complex glitch style.
I've been into that "Complextro" sound for a bit, (always gets the floor moving) Is it possible to bounce audio samples into a sampler, then assign each key to trigger a different sample, then draw or key your line and chop it up between the different samples/snyths? If it is, it would be fairly easy.
Re: getting that complex glitch style.
if I was a betting man I would say its
lots of micro-edits then slice to midi to say 25-30 slices
then put an arp or an arp rack and tweak
but I'm just guessin
