Looks like Ableton minus all the white-lit pixels giving me burns on my retinas.

Hmm, just saw Bitwig on the Create Digital Music blog (http://createdigitalmusic.com/2012/01/b ... eton-live/) before coming here and it seems to be firing up some comment/debate on the Ableton forum, as you would expect.

Looks like it might be cool but prob won't get that excited until it matures a little and I've seen what Ableton bring with Live 9.

Plus, I hate to be shallow but "Bitwig" is a really really shit name...

Discuss.

I like the colors better than the bright gray and white in ableton... looks like a great layout very similar to ableton... can only wait and see as this company developes

linus support is kind of a cool idea and when ableton and bitwig end up having to compete in the same market space... we the producers will only WIN!

I also think the content-agnostic channels is a great idea (midi and audio living in the same channel :) )

Definitely interested in this...I love the idea of Ableton Live, but some things just drive me mad (the arranger window more than anything). Bitwig includes some of the people that wrote Ableton Live (which is why it looks so similar) as well as the guy who made Shortcircuit and Surge. With that talent behind it, this has the possibility to be huge and a major competitor in the DAW market in my opinion (of course that'll take some time and depend on updates, features, and price point).

Looks interesting. I hope it'll force Ableton to step up their game and improve a few features.

looks great! i hope they make a small change in automation. if they make smooth curves an option, like FL has, then i'd think about switching from ableton

I am interested in the fact that evidently these folks see a market share grabbing opportunity.

Well, they did implement a lot of the features that Ableton Live users have been requesting for ages. They probably see them as a part of their target market.

LAN multi-user jamming
Multiple users can jam on the same document, and everything can be captured in the document's arrangement.
