Getting Vocals from a track?

Post by KaveDizzle » Thu Jan 12, 2012 8:44 pm

When Mala made the song Alica how did he just get the vocals from that Alica Keys song? And same with Coki - Ruff luvin, or Ramadanman-Grab somebody where he used Sierra 1,2 step.
Do they go to the Record label and ask for the acapella or do they use some program to isolate the vocals?

If you have the instrumental version of the track then you can flip the sound waves against the one with vocals and it will cancel out everything except the vocals. I forget what this process is called.
first song I ever completed: Soundcloud

This website is excellent. Also the craig vanity one is good, seems like there is some overlap.

DIY acapella extraction takes considerable skill and practice. By all means give it a try if you want, but you won't get great results immediately.
