Turntablist for Rock / Metal band?
Okay, so I got asked by a heavy rock, kindda band to be the turntablist, fire pads and basses / atmospherez, will probs be linking Digital midi DJ controller to traktor / logic, have pads and a midi keyboard linked to Logic as well and then send that out... Would it be better to run this shitt through Ableton or as I just said? Also any advicr / opinions to not fail? (ill be making all the samples / basses etc ofc)

Make sure your scratching is properly on point.

Indeed. Still not sure what kindda stuff turntablists would play out? What did the turntablist in Slipknot play, synth loops n shit, or did he just scratch? Bearing in mind I'll have a keyboard / pads so I can play synths and w/e live

Watch some videos of guys like Mr Hahn, DJ Lethal, Starscream etc...that'll be the sort of thing you'll be looking at. It'll obviously depend on the band's specific output, but assuming you can scratch at that sort of level it shouldn't be an issue.
Can you scratch?

Didn't the bloke in slipknot just play(and scratch) breaks/vocal samples? Thats all I heard on self titled (from memory). My metal days were over by the time their next album came around so...
EDIT: just stumbled across this video since your question sparked interest. An interesting take on turntablism to say the least.
