I want to make my students watch this.

Now to figure out how to work it into anything I have planned for the next 10 weeks. Love that the S.Park duo animated this. Good to know they are into something besides clever social-commentary dick and fart jokes.

Recently read an article about why a lot of Gen Y people are so unhappy, this seems to orbit around that article.

Got a link to that?

Most Gen Y pissed off folk I know can stem a lot of their unhappiness from a combination of economical strife and the slowly dawning realisiation that Fight Club was not a documentary toward self sufficient non-drone based lifestyle choices.

Haha. Fight Club. I'll find you the link. But basically its about them learning they aren't special snowflakes and that they might actually have to work for success.

Millenials with a sense of entitlement, it happens. Thinking they'll be riding the second wave of Internet start up companies and retiring at 35, reality smacking them hard round the face with an identikit bachelors degree and similar job prospects to their peers.

EDIT - you could top & tail with this;

One of Elliot's videos about how to succeed at something without following the drone path. An optimistic Yin to the cynical Yang.

EDIT;

1) Influence by Dr. Robert Cialdini.

2) Secrets of Closing the Sale by Zig Ziglar.

More of a note/placeholder for me ;)

I think one of them was actually a music student at uni, explains their constant reliance on jokes through songs

Really inspiring. I admire people that play in public places and hold their hats on the ground so someone could throw a dollar in em.

Wow i really need these to see these two videos. Im not sure exactly what to do with my life, being in highschool this topic is always brought up at family events and general conversations with the parents...

Since coming to another country parents lived an honest life. Dad works at an ok job, not so bad. Works at a pretty nice hotel but people are difficult.
Their idea of living a good life varies but always bring up things like work hard, get your degree and work at a company. Start from the bottom and work your way up to better spot.

Work hard now in school and take it easy after which is impossible now a days. A bachelors just gets you a local buss boy job at your local restaurant....

I would say to my parents, i dont know what to do? They ask what interest you? I saw well making and thinking stuff, always thought of becoming an engineer, but dont know which field. They tell me go become an aeronautical, electrical, or architect sort of thing. None of those really interest me at all. Still not sure but i just like making things. I say well what about music? They retort with you will never make anything out of that. Do something practical and earn a decent living, music will get you no where....

Kinda hard to listen to this because its something ive always had close to my heart and something ive liked doing since i was little trying to learn guitar and become a rocker and impress girls or even now with general production.

I find music so interesting, with the theory side and the actual making of it. From synthesizer to live orchestra stuff. The only other thing im doing now is baseball and im not sure how well that will go...

I dont now, i want to do something i love but then again im not sure ill be able to make a honest living or i can work at a boring job and make good living but be miserable but semi wealthy.

I just absolutely hate to have a job as the typical black and white cubical work, with phones ringing and so many people talking at once. Would drive me crazy.

These videos sort of helped me think a bit better in what i want to do but not everything goes as planned and ends up in roses and rainbows.

Sorry m8s sort of in the feelz

Love it and couldn't agree more. Not about the destination but the journey, can miss out on so many opportunities and beautiful things in life by not stopping to enjoy our surroundings.
