LOL @ suggesting me as software
Anyway, Ozone 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSP VW.
I wouldn't put VW anywhere near a master channel. Great for smashing drums, but er... that's it.
Presets in mastering = no.

I agree about the presets but if he is just using it to sparkle it up a little to show his mates then its not too bad. Looking at it this way if you have no mastering experience but you know the track sounds a little dull and too quiet theres a preset to excite and boost volume (I know not too technical) but if you dont know what your doing then it can help just to scroll through these while your playing and see which one sounds best

What sequencer are you using - doesn't it have automatic PDC? Are you using Logic Caveman Edition or something?Brisance wrote:If you want them to be delayed half a beat or so. VW has horrible latency(at least the demo)Macc wrote: Great for smashing drums

how do, @ macc, so your actually a mastering engineer, ? (the awe.... ha ha)
ive heard of a few people using vintage warmer to 'warm' their tracks up and that, it's not good though, ? it was actually something i wanted to try, maybe not so keen now.
i have to do my own mastering, but im always curious as what one of my tracks would sound like masterd by a proper person. what gear do you use for your mastering, ? hardware eq's and compressor's, ?
cheers

Can I just clear something up before I go away and make a mess of everything for a few months.
VM is ok on drums but nothing else?
I have got it but I dont understand exactly what I am doing with it so dont use it.

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I'm available as native VST, complete with condescending sarcasm and patronisation as standard.
One hell of a GUI though

I'm not one of the big boys, but I make most of my living mastering these days, yes.George Lenton wrote:how do, @ macc, so your actually a mastering engineer, ? (the awe.... ha ha)
Try it for yourself! It's not going to leave you with scars or anythingive heard of a few people using vintage warmer to 'warm' their tracks up and that, it's not good though, ? it was actually something i wanted to try, maybe not so keen now.

Personally if someone tells me they are sending a mix with a bit of VW on it I ask for one without as well. In all the cases I can think of I have used the non-VW. Largely because the controls have such a huge range, it's very easy to overcook.
Bear in mind I ain't used it since just after VW2 came out. Too much other stuff to try out

All that bollix, yes. Or not, if it doesn't need it.have to do my own mastering, but im always curious as what one of my tracks would sound like masterd by a proper person. what gear do you use for your mastering, ? hardware eq's and compressor's, ?

Overrated. The original hardware is much better.Depone wrote: I dunno, i was just about to buy the UAD-1 Bob Macc Edition. Plenty of presets in there too!
I passed 30 the other week... does that make me vintage?
