Why do bouncers have to be so arrogant!

I think its the bouncers legal responsibility to kick you out if they are made aware that you are taking drugs, otherwise they face fines and a chance of losing their job.

If I was a bouncer and you were smoking weed in smelling distance of me I would kick your out of my club for being cheeky and making me look bad.

Hahaha sorry they are doing their job? We live in a country where weed is illegal? It's only fair if you are caught doing so that you are rightly turfed. I've come across a few safe bouncers but ultimately its their job on the line.

okay, lets look at it from a club owners point of view. The club licence is your livelyhood, and the livelyhood of the 10-20 people it employs including, cleaners, bar staff, door staff, promoters and backroom staff.

The conditions of your licence are that you have a zero tolerance drugs policy which if not followed could result in the loss of your licence.

Would you instruct your bouncers to follow through a zero tolerance policy on the street outside your club in full view of the public? Would you sack them if they failed to?

Keeping a club licence is a serious responsibility, if you are going to take drugs in a club or outside the club, its a fair cop when you get caught.

Its all very objective and hit and miss though. Every club has the same obligations but they all blatantly dont follow them. If there was a serious zero tolerence policy on drugs in places then they wouldnt be rammed full of fucked people.

Plus as he has said the bouncers let in people who were gurning, which is as suspicious as the smell of weed. So overall they were just being wankers it seems.

Of course there is a blancing act, but its pretty hard to prove undoubtedly that someone is gurning if you search them and they have no drugs on them.

But if someone is smoking a spliff within smelling distance (and probably sight) of the bouncers, outside the front of the club, it sort of puts them in a position where they have to do something about it.

If you take drugs in club in sight or smell of the bouncers, you can expect to get thrown out or not let in, if you dont its a bonus, thats just standard in my opinion.

Agreed. You just need to know what your dealing with I suppose. Certain clubs / pubs are fine with whatever and other are not. With the places that arent you just have to be careful :)

if in doubt, hug them. you have to try to get past their brutish, ape-like posturing and melt their little tiny hearts. go on, make it a big hug.
is it?

NO.
