Various & Lo Dubs proudly presents the return of

STARKEY

Planet Mu/Seclusiasis/Trouble & Bass

STARKBASS CD RELEASE PARTY!

Various & Lo Dubs are pleased to announce the return of Starkey! His highly energetic dj performances make for quite an experience. Light years beyind most dj's in the joy he exudes while playing and always loaded with the freshest cuts,PJ is sure to bring the ruckus!.

It was one year ago this weekend that Starkey first lit up the set at Various. Now he returns to throttle the mighty H.A.S. sound system once again with his unique blend of dubstep and streetbass.

PJ Geissinger (aka Starkey and MOVES!!!) is co-owner of Slit Jockey Records and a member of the Seclusiasis and TROUBLE AND BASS crews. Following his recent success stateside,  Starkey was selected by Vex'd as one of seven new DJs for Radio  1's MARY ANNE HOBBS' low end special 'Generation Bass'  and was the only non-UK DJ to be chosen.

Over the past five years,  Starkey has had a string of vinyl, cd and digital releases on labels  such as Peace-Off/Ruff (France), Nonclassical (UK), Dead Homies (US), Starksound/Rag&Bone (UK), Offshore (US) and LoDubs (US), Creative Space (Greece) and Dress 2 Sweat (UK).

Starkey's first full-length  album "Ephemeral Exhibits" was released late 2008 on the seminal Planet Mu label. It has received rave reviews around the globe, with the Wire saying "Ephemeral Exhibits is compressed into mid-range blasts of yowling, plastic synth lines over peg-legged stutter-beats. His Stateside 'street bass' sound is a bright neon beacon of hope."

This is the official CD release party for STARKBASS Starkey's blazing new mix CD for the Lo Dubs imprint. Don't miss it!

From this week's Portland Mercury:

The last time Starkey was in town, the dance floor lost its collective mind. His sounds were so fresh, the bass was so heavy, and the man was so involved with his performance that all the audience could do was thrash around in a frenzy and scream for more at a fevered pitch. In the year since, Starkey released his first full-length album, was featured on Mary Anne Hobbs' radio show on BBC's Radio 1, and toured five continents. Now he's back on the West Coast to promote Starkbass, a new DJ mix out on Portland's LoDubs record label. His formula for making a party go off? A keenly curated selection of grime, wobbly dubstep, and straight-up club music composed of breakthrough tracks by up-and-coming artists, recognizable hits, and his own outstanding productions. AVA
