LOUD headphones

Post by unlikely » Sat Apr 14, 2007 4:45 am

I know headphone topics have come about in the past but I just want to see what people are rating right now in terms of sheer loudness, one too many sets having to turn up the gain and eqs when q-ing just to hear whats going on over the system, I need a pair of phones that can really make the most of rubbish headphone preamps. preferably at a shockingly reasonable price

Sennheiser 280's... keeps the audio goodness in... keeps the naff external noise out! 32 dB of isolation. I use them plugged directly into my soundcard without an amplifier.

Sennheiser all the way. I have owned one pair for 8 years or something like that. No problems, EVER.

DJing or producing?

if you are talking to me, I use Sennheisers for BOTH.

I have a pair for both situations, because I don't want them to break and have to wait for them to appear post 2 weeks later, or whatever.

I've been using Beyerdynamic DT100s for a few years, they take a lot of punishment and handle high volumes well

Same. HD 25 will crush your years a bit too much but that guarantees even more volume.
