'Lil bit of live PA action from misk - UP PERMANENTLY

Post by misk » Sun May 13, 2007 2:38 am

hey all. i finally got of my ass today and got my live rig goin' on! its not much, just the Korg EMX-1 and the ESX-1, with my own samples loaded in the ESX-1. no computers used, except to record! Everything other than the last little jazz bit on this "mix" is original programming. Enjoy!

This sounds interesting - on the DL mate, sounds like something me and a mate used to do back in the day...

drum programming in ableton? i dont use live very much, but you can always just program drums in another sequencer and then load the midi files up into ableton and assign your own samples to it in impulse. I used the two newer korg electribes for this, and they have step sequencers, so its a little different than ableton. regardless, get your set online! id love to hear it!

you can program them in ableton like with a a step sequencer if you use the impulse... its especially easy if you use a midi controller like the trigger finger. I havent done it in a minute, but I think theres a tutorial about it built into the program...

yeah that would work, it depends on what your used to, thats all. what kidlogic said about the trigger finger is good, they're dope.

I Re-upped the mix too, for those of you who didnt get it yet... the next set i do will be a LOT better i think. im gonna have a lot more material.

cool on the re-up, I havent had a chance to get it yet... patiently waiting to get home and snag it

a keyboard will work, any midi controller will do... I said trigger finger cause thats what I have and use. You can actually use two impulses and a trigger finger to emulate an MPC - Perfect for drums!

Dude! Dopeness! I was vibin on this on the bus, I think youve really got something here. Im going to withhold a full blown critique until I hear the next mix, but for a first attempt, this is way cool. Keep on it, I can see you doing well with a live PA...
