mixers...? any ideas for me?

i`m after a decent scratch mixer...any recommendations?

not too sure what to spend tbh..?

looked on www.chemical.com ...any other recommended shops??

i have a stanton sk6f at the mo, but its out of commission due to snapped cross faders and channels, i dont think its worth getting fixed do you..?

should i just slam it on ebay as it is?

i reckon i should get somet that is solid, as i do not want to be in the same position, a year or so down the line, though i did let tossers abuse the sk6f.

the gains on the tascam xs 8 thats i am currently using are crackly also, so yeah some solid gains would also be an advantage

depends how much your wanting to spend. i just got a ecler nuo3 which is a fucking amazing 3 channel mixer suitable for scratching or just about anything else (dont scratch myself). all the faders are asignable and adjustable. this mixer is also available in 2 channels as the nuo2. both are on chemical records site

if you only want a 2 channel scratch mixer, i very almost got the urei 1601 which is equally as good and available with either a sampler or effects unit as extras

if you want a scratch mixer thats going to last forever, the Rane TTM-56 is the way to go. The fader has no contacts that will wear out over time - its all magnetic. Best mixer i ever used for scratching.

ecler mixers are eternal crossfader upgradable (a magnetic crossfader), doesnt come as standard tho. think it might on the nuo5 but thats probably much more than your going to need unless youre running a nightclub

I know this is about scratch mixers, but can any of you recommend a decent mixer that doesn't cost the earth with a few more channels? Bit more of a club mixer I suppose.

I've got a Numark EM-260 that I've had for ages. It's been pretty robust but the EQs seem a tad bollocks and I'm feeling the need to upgrade.

Any thoughts?

depends how much you want to spend. id recommend the ecler nuo3 personally and got it for £325 from chemical records. i dont scratch at all and love this mixer. its just good for everything and has beautiful sound and great eq, and has 3 channels all assignable to the crossfader. not to mention its sexiness

The sexiness is the most important thing really. I'd rather not spend more than £400 and I need 3 channels.

I can now confirm the following, for your information.

ECLER Nuo3 / Nuo5

are both good, especially if you opt for the "endless fader"
Build quality is good, reliability yet to be proven but looks hopeful

In that older thread, quoted by someone above I made a casual reference to various new released mixers, here is the update:

The new edition RANE mixers

Usage experience and detailed information I have recieved tells me:
Hmm... Build quality is terrible, these are not a patch on the old modular variety, which are thankfully STILL AVAILABLE.

The new edition FORMULA SOUND mixers (Funktion One type)

Again, I have it on good information that build quality, sound e.t.c are poor and they are not a patch on the earlier varieties, also STILL AVAILABLE

The new edition UREI DJ Mixers (1601 etc.)

Reliable information and multiple good feedback tells me,

These are all good,still up there, good build, good reliability, good usability.
Especially good for scratch DJ's

Please note they are DIGITAL
which may make a difference depending on the purpose.

(of course the output preamps are still Analogue)

They do however still make the 1620 ( my personal #1 )
In good 'ol glorious ANALOGUE
But it's not everyone's fave choice due to ROTARY faders

Easy m8, well i have just the thing for you. It comes in the form of a Citronic SM-FX400 USB Ultima Digital 12 Inch Mixer.. I havent used 1 but it has a USB port to conect pc to mixer, it has 4 Channels and a bunch of effects. well i`m almost there..sometime at the end of this month, once i`ve been paid again, i will be investing in that mixer, got a few hundred £££ saved already, so leaning towards the tt56 still, even just 4 those sexy coloured face plates u can get!!!!! PINK rargh!!!!!

just wandering what is the equivalent in a vestax model???
