whats the best way to clean dubs?

should i be using the same anti-static stuff as for vinyl?

i'm worried this will eff em up...

Don't know about gun oil, but I can def recommend lighter fluid.

do u have to already own a gun to get the oil?

i might have to stick to lighter fluid

i worked in secondhand vinyl stores for 6 years, and we used lighter fluid as a last resort, & only once as it will deterioate the vinyl if you overdo it.

my thinking is that acetate must be more sensitive than vinyl, as simply playing them degrades them.....so wouldn't lighter fluid be a little harsh?

lighter fluid is good for dissolving dirt, but warm, slightly soapy water is actually the best for a once-over on normal vinyl in my experience....

anyone shed any light?

need to know a tried and tested ting, or i will just use my normal tricks...

I would go with the soap and water.
Lighter fluid seems very harsh for an acetate.

Soap and water always does the trick for me.

Use a hot iron and some brown paper - brings those stains out a treat! :D

Apparently lighter fluid is one of the WORST possible things you can put on Dubz.. Image

Hope I ain't fucked anyone elses dubs over wi bad advice - now going to have to go back to mine and see what the damage is.

Sure it won't be too bad...
..just that continually using it to clean them will probably eventually fcuk the acetate..


Was advised to use de-ionized water, a lint-free cloth and to wipe the dub in a clockwise motion!!
