We realize that many people want maximum exposure on the main forum. It's understandable. Unlike many electronica forums out there, we do allow product promotion, and we'll continue to allow it so long as people don't take it to ridiculous proportions.
Over promotion will actually have a detrimental effect in the long term on whatever you're promoting. When people see a flyer once, they don't need to see that same flyer 10 more times to digest the info. We live in a fast world and people absorb things faster and faster these days so it's important to stay focused on how you present your projects. We've got to have limits on this site, and it's time that we remind people about those limits before we turn the main forum into one big sequence of flashing banners, which could easily be the case.
The following are situations that we'll consider to be spamming the main forum whether they be in regards to you, your labels, your releases, your radio shows, your releases on other labels or aiding a friend in his/her promotions.:
-Diverting a thread aggressively purely for promotion.
-Posting massive flyers or a list of url's in your posts or in threads in a consistent pattern, not considering the topics at hand or the things being discussed.
-Posting the same flyers or links in several threads, or on several sub-forums during the same day.
-Bumping your own promotion type threads more than 3 times in the same day or more than 3 times a day over a run of consecutive days.
-Promoting your own label's mp3 releases, using separate threads for every single mp3, instead of putting them all in one thread.
-Getting the same handful of forum friends to continually bump your promotional threads over the course of a week or over consecutive days. (If these situations become an obvious pattern then the thread may be deleted as spam.)
Here are some pixel guides if you're not familiar with web design.

Event promotion so long as it's in the event forum's won't be an issue. We expect promoters to promote in the events forums as much as they'd like.
Spamming is considered aggressive behavior by our rules and will force us to give warnings or bannings on a case by case basis as situations need our attention. It's never something we like doing, but it's essential for us to focus on the community as a whole.
We'd like to ask that forum member's help us keep an eye on the spamming situations above, and contact one of the moderators when they notice a problem.
Peace.
