Other Reccomended Production Forums

Post by John Locke » Mon Apr 28, 2008 8:50 pm

considering i dont do wobble, i got nice monitors, i dont need to download another 50 GB of 909 kick drum samples , and I aint got a spare 6 hrs a day to check out endless half finished tracks on myspage pages, this forum holds less and less interest 4me by the day.
yeah, yeah, yeah, negative I know, but I never like 2 disappoint...

anyways, although obviously one valuable lessen we've all learnt on here (haven't we children?) is google first, the idea of trawling thru endless bullshit to get 2 the few sites that r worth bothering with is just too depressing (and i'm sure this is actually 1 of the better 1s), so I'm hoping sum of the more musically open-minded of u can suggest other sources of music production knowledge (outside of dubstep) that have been helpful 2 u: there must b loads of tricks n skills used in other genres of music that could b put 2 just as much use in dubstep and related sounds, no?

and b4 u all let out a collective sigh of relief, i aint going anywhere, aint throwing a tantrum n storming out, just, well, wondering what else is out there 2 augment my/our learning

not even gonna mention DOA

but for Logic users this is the shit: http://www.logicprohelp.com/

er, thats it

Nice one for the Logic link, will see if they can help out with any of my Logic 5.5 problems. Although it looks like its all version 8 and up so i may have to look for an alternative.

Here's my link - http://www.soundonsound.com/forum

Pretty obvious i know but still. Is fairly informative for the broader producers out there. I've used it from time to time and its come in handy.
If you look past all the 'recommend me' this and 'Ahh technical problem!' that shite its alright.

safe for those, yeah sound on sound IS kind of obvious, but i didnt think of it. same goes 4 kvr, only ever been on there lookin 4 free plugins, 4got there's a forum. thanks

i was on logic 6 (i.e. still emagic, not apple) for along time b4 jumping strait to 8 and ppl were still helpful on there, but i'm assuming 5.5 means u on PC so not sure how helpful it'll b. problem is all the other logic forums i found r basically dead, like no new posts for weeks sometimes. not helpful. logicprohelp on the other hand has got me a solution 2 every single question within 24hrs so far. try it. mostly they just got hate for protools trolls

gearslutz.

tapeop, though it's very rock-oriented and chock full of guys in arkansas recording metal.

rec.pro.audio, don't remember the link for it. very serious recording stuff.

if you use logic (any version), logicprohelp.com is an invaluable resource.

of course these are all forums for recording, not producing electronic music in general. gearslutz's electronic music and computer music forums have a good amount of info and are very active tho.
