oh and further to the rumors circulating since they split, it looks like a reunion tour isnt out of the question:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavement_(band)#Reunion wrote:There is frequent speculation about the possibility of a Pavement reunion. In a 2006 Pitchfork interview, Scott Kannberg discussed the possibility of a reunion for the band's 20th anniversary in 2009. In a 2008 Entertainment Weekly article, Kannberg echoed the possibility of a 2009 reunion, and mentioned Matador Records' 20th anniversary. Mark Ibold was amiable to the idea; Malkmus, however, stated: "something small in 10 years like the Zeppelin thing sounds good to me."
If that happens I am there with bells on

As will I, as will I. I didn't really feel anything else Spiral did after the first Preston record. And even that didn't blow my mind.

did he do anything else?
it all seems to get a bit vague when u look for info about him.
Malkmus seems to grab all the attention.
i really liked the Preston records. defo more than anything ive since heard Malkmus do. i kinda think that the Spiral part of there sound might have been the bit i most enjoyed. that kind of twisted pop, rather than the proggyness of Malkmus.
.
still tho when they are altogether doing there thing was when they were @ there best fo def. i'll never forget seeing them @ one of the reading festivals and all the stage p.a power went out and Scott and Steve just jammed on the power from there guitar amps for tens minutes with only the people right @ the front hearing anything, pure Pavement shambles in full effect, loved it!
