In round 3 of Pacific Dubstep's "Proppa" series, we are honored and excited to bring you a selection of selectors from across the nation. We have world class bass music from the LIGHTA!, Illegal Sound and MissBlissMusic camps. This one’s going to be next-level folks.

Michael Red: Lighta! - Vancouver
www.myspace.com/michaelred4

Michael Red is a music producer, performer, live PA artist, DJ, event producer, promoter, and curator. Originally from Halifax (NS) based out of Vancouver (BC) since ‘98, Michael’s been doing it for a while now. Amongst a pile of other things, Michael mixes and mashes dancehall, ragga jungle, dub, reggae, dubstep, amongst other things. Red was resident at Vancouver’s longest running dancehall night BRUK OUT, continues to rock sold-out & capacity underground parties, and has played alongside a lengthy list of international talent in both dubstep and jungle realms. As the founding member and the key event-thrower with the infamous LIGHTA! SOUND, Michael’s played a pivotal role in shaping the now thriving dubstep and bass scene in Vancity; spreading the sound beyond Vancouver and setting the standard high.

Dubconscious: Illegal_Sound, Dubslingers -Toronto
www.liquidfunk.ca/dubconscious

Now residing just north of Toronto, DJ Dubconscious came up on the west coast of Canada as part of the Illegal Sound Crew. Specializing in ragga jungle, these days you can also find him playing nearly every style of drum & bass, ’nuff reggae & dancehall, and plenty of dubstep. So far, he’s had a chance to share the stage with Shy FX & Skibadee, B Traits, Marcus Visionary & RCola - just to name a few. Having recently joined up with the Dubslingers crew, he can now be found on the frontlines of Toronto’s burgeoning dubstep scene.

Buck Lee: Illegal_Sound - Vancouver

Buck Lee has been deejaying around the west coast for the last seven years. After first playing reggae and dub at raves he grew tired of waiting untill the morning to play his sets. He then took up playing 2-step, later DnB , Jungle, Dancehall and more recently Dubstep. After relocating to Vancouver, Buck Lee is hard at work making tunes, playing parties and building up his reputation as an original badman on the decks. Victoria is in for a treat when this islander comes around because his crates are rammed full of heavy riddims and cranium splitting bass.

Miss Bliss: MissBlissMusic - Victoria
www.missblissmusic.com

Miss Bliss has been living and breathing music since conception. A selektor for the past ten years, and heavily involved in arts and culture around the province, her mandate is flow, rhythm and BASS. World bridger and dotz connector, BC’s dub ambassador has rocked the floors at Diversity New Music Festival, Forward Festival, Lasqueti Escape and Harvest Castles. In 2008, she, in collaboration with Tribe Productions, brought the deep, heavy, bass sound to Victoria with Bass Bottoms 1 & 2. Miss Bliss is very excited to join forces with Pacific Dubstep and is ready to start this night off right! Big up!!

Many thanks and ’nuff respect out to the bass-music supporters on the West Coast.
