The Entity

Post by dj cal cutta » Sun Mar 29, 2009 4:41 pm

Does anyone know anything about this stuff? I have yet to hear anything come near it in terms of heavyness(I'm serious, *nothing* touches The Entity in terms of sheer power and viciousness in dubstep), it's more metal than dubstep, yet totally mixable, fits right in a dubstep set...

The only audio I know of is one of my sets, I dropped "Liar" on my SubFM show last night:

skip to 1:53:02 to go straight to it

sayin' it...heaviest dubstep out

Never seen a myspace/virb/etc for The Entity(his discogs page doesn't give any extra info, either), just adds to the mystery of it all...(to be fair, I'm not the most savvy internet hunter on earth)

honestly I don't see how you could call this dubstep. It does have Dubstep like breakdowns but it's more like Industrial Metal. Cool stuff though but i can't imagine it would work well in a "standard" dubstep set, too far out

just listened to your mix (the download was mad slow when I checked the last time, so I aborted it). yeah, of course it fits in terms of beat matching but the music itself doesn't really fit together with that dre remix that came before that. I just think it's too far out. It might work better after a total rinse out tune, especially live. You gotta smash the decks and mixer to pieces at the end then to add to the feeling
check 5:15 onwards of this clip (disregard the wackness of Swamp's routine):

Word, fair enough(I'd agree there are better songs than that Dre remix to mix it into).

That Swamp video was funny(you could hear the rage in the crowd's voice screaming at Swamp to break that cd deck, hehe).
