BRISTOL - 3 MAY - FRACTURE CLINIC - SUBEENA & KOMONAZMUK

Post by spooKs » Wed Apr 15, 2009 4:26 pm

Yo yo yo! Me and de crew, we be bringin fah you.....

a bank holiday bass attack - for summa those sunday subs - someone say Funktion 1!?!?!

The lineup's going down like this!

KOMONAZMUK (Hench)
http://www.myspace.com/komonazmuk
A name you all know well: a stalwart of the Bristol bass scene, a central part of the fearsome ‘Hench’ family, he earned his production stripes in drum and bass as part of Ice Minus - signed to Tech Itch’s label. The man’s abilities have gone from strength to strength recently, with collaborations with bossman Appleblim and Bristol honcho Gatekeeper producing highly developed dub techno masterworks. His own solo productions leave nothing to be desired though, as he has perfected a fearsome interaction of industrial, mega-size basslines with stylish, perfectly created beats that do SO much damage in a club. Recent remixes for Kosheen, the Black Ghosts and Sideshow indicate that Komonazmuk is turning very important heads, and right now he’s completely unmissable…

SUBEENA (Imminent/Red Volume - first ever appearance in Bristol!)
http://www.myspace.com/subeena
Bristol exclusive! The last two years have seen an unusually female presence smash through musical boundaries with unbelievable amounts of style. Her releases on Sweden’s Red Volume records and her own imprint, Imminent Recordings, range from her initial claustrophobic, pressurized excursions into dark, nasty dubstep, through to her latest EP: a kaleidoscopic swirl of techno, IDM and very sophisticated emotional bass music, carrying echoes of early Warp records atmospheres whilst somehow still being engineered for the dancefloor. This April, Subeena is being featured on a special showcase of female electronic artists, on none other than RADIO 1’s experimental show. The amount of hype around this name right now is hectic, as sets at Croydub and Superdubpressure with the megastars of dubstep have proved. A trailblazing label owner, producer and DJ, Subeena’s time has come, and she’s entering Bristol for the first time EVER for this night. Danger!!
