I use ultrabeat and totally love it, find myself using the stock kits quite a bit - my only complaint would be that I seem to get alot of "digital-ish" high end noise from ultrabeat .. like a faint digital crush that isn't so easy on the ears .. anyone else experience this with ultrabeat?...

Re: Top down vs bottom up. Decklyn's mad psychedelic rant

Someone brought up the concept of top down vs bottom up at school in a presentation on nano technology. In top down, you build a machine that builds another smaller machine that builds another smaller until you're at the nano level. In bottom up you manipulate things at the atomic level until you'v...

The Wire is a good magazine but I think it's a bit late to put Wiley on the cover only now, years and years after his groundbreaking work. They did report about Wiley sometimes, but for a magazine that's supposed to be about 'adventures in modern music'... they seem a bit too market oriented when it...

Decent interview. Good to see some guys take back the ridiculous criticism. As said, it was for a public unknowing about dubstep and Skream.

For the record too, check out this month's URB magazine. good article on dubstep in it. Its cool to see an american magazine with the word 'dubstep' on the cover. Seeing stuff like this makes me hopeful :) First, the BBC's Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs thanked XLR8R for coining the term dubstep. Wheth...
