Re: an open letter
i've been pretty down lately too, man. music seems to be the only thing im really passionate about but at times it's reeeally hard accepting ones limitations, not being nearly as good as i'd like to be, and not ever going to be able to make a good living off this passion (which isn't what it's about...

Re: anyone using ableton primarily for djing?

don't smoke shit when you have a block... ...smoke when you're in the flow! (at least that's what I do, if i roll it and hope it gives me some inspiration, it won't! shit doesn't blow your mind with inspiration when it's anyway empty. it blows my the mind when it's already full of inspiration but c...

thought it might be useful for beginners to have a rough guide to the advantages and disadvantages of each daw. plus its cool reading about the other daws out there. so if you have enough experience in one or several to comment, please do.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
damn. just found out that you could use scenes to trigger different bpms and time signatures.
just type the tempo number with the word bpm into a scene and voila.
same for time signatures. just type in 4/4 or whatever into a scene. also, you can change both the tempo and time sig for each scene.

ratfm  nahh, lcd screen is busted on the lappy and for some reason plugging in the ext. monitor doesn't work, nor does the 'switch to ext monitor' command so had to improvise -- bending the fuck out of the screen does the trick in deactivating the lcd and activating the monitor was looking ...
