Also, sais, would you be willing to run it?
It's cool if not. I don't mind.

Re: DSF: Applied Minimalism #2 - Voting open

When do you want to do the next one?
I think I'll enter this time since I'll be largely finished with school within the next two weeks. Also think it would be a sick start with my new equipment.

I dunno how I feel about that bongo drop, but other than that I think it's a strong tune.
Wonder what that sample is.

Re: DSF: Applied Minimalism #2

Just give it another day or two then fuck it, ready or not... This thread's been floating here for awhile, and extending it too much further will just invite more "oh hey I think I wanna join now" latecomers. Re: DSF: Applied Minimalism #2

Guys I'm still here... for now :)
I've only received 3 submissions though.

Well, technically 4 but one guy doesn't want to take his off soundcloud so...

Should we go ahead? Do the guys who've submitted think it would be fair to allow more time?

Re: notable DSF producers

I think everyone has been making music longer than a few months has been named. That just shows the DSF community are ready to give props to anyone on the board hahaa, how lovely. :w: :w: :w: As far as I know, I wasn't named... Been on this hype for time now too. Think I'm gonna do pornos instead.

Re: Shlohmo's beats

I was going off his new work 'till I heard that one tune with How to Dress Well.
Think I'm gonna grab that EP and give it a proper listening to when I've got the funds to do so.

Re: DSF: Applied Minimalism #2

A while ago, like several months ago, I had a little go with that sample and got a fairly decent drumloop together. The hats were easier to make than they were with the 808 bass drum for the last one.

You've got plenty of time folks!

Re: SKRILLEX UPSTROKE DUB/SKA GUITAR SOUND?

I'm about to blow your mind little dude. Record a guitar stab, and then stick it between your kick and snare. ^This Seriously. This can be accomplished in 30 seconds. There's a 90% chance it will sound better than any attempt at synthesizing the sound. Sometimes you just can't beat the real thing. ...

Re: Getting out of that dubstep mentality.

Try starting tunes differently. When I quit dnb it was by accident. Instead of using my preset drum loops, I just started working on my own ones each time and checking things at different tempos. Also, construct two or more drum loops and alternate between them to get a feel for alternative rhythms ...
