Re: Ragga influenced UK Garage
Probably worth a mention as it was probably the biggest commercial raggage tune, but hard to forgive the overkill.

Yeah but to get an archaic sequencer that will only work in 4/4 to do triplets would require you to think like that. No reason to do it if you are just gonna slow down a 4/4 tune. Other than that I definitely need to let this thread go lol.

Instanthem
This is DSF though, so maybe Skrillex should get his engineer to do a remix.

Re: Ok so thats brostep then what do you call this?
Well it is definitely in triplets. Triplets are technically a very fast version of 3/4 but accepted it would have to be at x4 the tempo. I've heard of producers ramping up the tempo on old tracker sequencers to get the effect in the early 90s etc.

Re: Ok so thats brostep then what do you call this?
that time signature is 3/4 so it wouldn't be house. Drum and Bass had a phase of this 10 years ago when most of you lot still listened to Metallica/Spice Girls etc... Haters on DOA coined the derogatory term 'clownstep' and it was a 'step' Portmanteau that existed before even the word dubstep had ta...

Re: Sending dubs? Here's some help: Dub Etiquette...
This is a great article but I think the only thing a little misleading about it is that you have chosen quite a few neophyte/musophile types to offer advice. I listen to Martin and Oli's shows and they seem to be obsessive about bringing the finest, brand new music to the masses (why I listen of cou...

Re: house forum name
I don't really care massively but Room 2 is decent. Especially when Room 2 plays all of the genres that get heat in this subforum, like funky, Night Slugs, 'wonky', garage, 2-step and all that. If you are concerned with melody and rhythm this fringe is no doubt the healthiest part of dubstep.
