Re: producing gets me mad sometimes

Whenever I get stuck on something in a tune, I just work on another element of it. Ie if I cant write a melody, I work on chord progressions. If I can't work out where to go next I work on the percussion for what I've got and that usually gives me ideas (etc.) Keep plugging away and you'll get there...

Problem in FL (resolved)

My fruity loops shits itself when I add another synth to the sequencer. By this I mean it comes up with an error, inserts a sampler channel instead of massive and then crashes. Luckily I saved just before adding the synth, and have re opened the project only for it to do it again :? Anyone have any ...

Re: Blind Prophet - Got Me Thinking

Loving the mellow vibes, that sub is huge. The evolving squarey lead is really nice too. Not so keen on those bells but that's just me I guess... The progressions on this track are truly magnificent, the song sounds complete. Well done good sir

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010

http://soundcloud.com/whyrez/multidivide-forthcoming-on-fentplates Enjoyed this a lot, the bass is huge without being obscene, (not many people are able to get this balance right) Drums sound lush, those hats youve got are lovely. My only minor gripe being I would perhaps like to have seen a little...

Re: What is your main production enemy?

ah ok, so making generic, unoriginal music based on a template set by other people and adhering to a ridiculously low standard isn't hard. i will have to remember that. ahaha :z: but seriously, I find it really hard to pull myself away from production - I mean yeah sure there are the very rare occa...

Re: Favourite film score?

Eraserhead, not strictly a score but the sound design is alot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwEK7onUO6M&feature=related Yeah man, the noise and atmospherics in this film are crazy. I kinda get the idea that it is just down to shitty recording as opposed to intended effect (was a student proje...

Learn some chord progressions, they're usually a pretty good building block for melodies:

Re: This Pad Sound - Eargasm

That is a sick pad... Sounds to me as if its some rhodes (or other organ) samples layered over each other with different envelopes and a lot of reverb as well as some delay. No idea about what notes though.

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread

I need some help with the bass which comes in at 1.01. My best guess is some sort of pitch bent reese but I've not really got much of an idea where to start
