Re: Live Performance Enhancing Drugs

The occasions I've played live, I'd take codeine or benzos to deal with nerves. Always thought they put me in a more creative head space.
...Looking back, I probably came across like I had undergone a lobotomy
Feels good in the moment, though.

Re: Realizing the tune I just spent 3 days on is Terrible

Try; Getting stuck in a rut after 5 years, looking back at everything and realising all your early stuff had a lot more of a vibe to it and you'd made barely an progression... THEN having some filmmaker/photographer ask to use one of your tracks in a video she wanted to screen during London Fashion ...

Re: bass causing you to feel sick?

Yup, from time to time low-passed/subby stuff does this to me, as well - makes me really dizzy, and feels like my brain's turned to soup. Doesn't usually take an hour though. Kinda glad to hear I'm not the only one, actually

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15TQONZbQLs Probably this. Was the first thing I was involved in that was really exciting. Drummer/Engineer had done a Peel Session before, the vibe in the studio was great - Being 19 at the time, it was such an awesome experience, and everyone we met were lovely. :4:

Re: Do you actually buy software?

a while back now, I was talking to both a studio owner and his mate who's a deep-house producer and label owner. Two of the soundest guys I've ever met. It was implied a lot of guys pirate stuff in the early days BUT really have a duty to buy if/when they make any headground. I suppose it just comes...

Re: How much would you actually spend on some new software?

Hard to say, as I don't think I'm anywhere near the level of ability where I can justify large purchases especially when I have everything I need already, but I don't think I'd have a problem with spending £100 on a bundle ...But yeah, that's coming from someone who's still got 2/3 of his student lo...

Just sounds like an organic kick drum sample? (as opposed to a 909, or whatever) with some reverb on it

Re: DSF Freeware VST Contest #3 (VOTE NOW!)

Dude, what is with this place? We have this competition, and at the end 3 of the 7 people show up, the winner doesn't even post anything... ghost town. I have a slight inkling - although I could be wrong - that Dubstep's been lost to whiney 'screamo' kids Therefore, someone better hurry up and inve...

Re: Any Guitarists in here?

Was in a band that fizzled out partly, I think, because I wanted to play Post-Rock, while the other lot wanted to invent new genres and be cool indie rockstars in NME. Man my first band fizzled out when our drummer got pregnant (at the ripe old age of 16). That totally bucks the trend that drummers...

Re: an idea for next dsf remix comp

Soundtracking a scene to a film would be awesome. I'd love this to go ahead (although not right now as my PC is semi-dead). I had a go at doing this with Alien druing the scene where Ash malfunctions and was great fun

We'd probably need to decide if it's more sound design based, or writing music?

Re: Any Guitarists in here?

I play but havn't picked it up in well over a year. It's fair to say I'm not amazing. Did manage to record an EP which had some labe...
