Yeah as said before... That whole style of production is different to what someone might generally be doing in Dubstep. That whole "lotus genre" mainly is made on MPC's and thats how they get it to sound so lose. Its generally done in freehand/unquantized and the "skipping" sound...

You could also use a SFX library as a source sound for your effect instead of using a mic. Sound design is often more about what you do with a sound, than what sound you already have ;) Richard Devine does allot of field recording for his sound design sources.. And I dont think it gets more "tr...
