Re: Skrillex highpitch synth
Which song are you referring to?
In Massive, from the initialized patch, click the Spectrum dropdown menu on oscillator one and select Formant. Then play any note in the first octave.
And don't forget to push sustain all the way up on your amp envelope.

no idea wtf a modestep is n barely familair with 16 bit both wack IMO if you have no idea who one of them is, and are barely familiar with the other, how the hell can you make an intelligent opinion on either? unless, of course, you're on the hater bandwagon. but that would be impossible wouldn't i...

Load a drum rack, drag and drop all your drum sounds, and hit the save button (the little round disc logo on the top of the drum rack)......?

Re: How to get the heavy drumstep lead
i never knew that about layering with the same waveform.. never even thought about that.. .is that true? That using the same waveform could cause problems? Im trying to think of my best basses and what the layered waveforms were, ill have to go back and look when I get home... but thats interesting...

Re: How to get the heavy drumstep lead
The Bass Cannon lead is a simple sawtooth bass layered underneath one instance of Massive. Try the formant setting on your oscillators to get the screaming sound.

Re: Reccomended to work on many projects at once?
You ever considered recycling the parts from the tunes you don't think you'll finish? Helps me cut down on my scrap files a lot And a few dozen really isn't anything to get sore over imo  Most of the bass sounds in my current tunes are recycled from unfinished work. At least I'm productive wit...

Sounds like there's a filter LFO on there. Not sure where else he put LFO's, so there could be some wavetable LFO movement as well.

Very cool sound. Pitch bending always helps move a nice bass around. Nice job

Re: Making chords fit single-note melodies?
Certain synth patches will have one oscillator several semitones above the other. Therefore, if you're writing certain chords, it will naturally sound out of key because certain oscillators in the patch are out of key. I'm not saying that's your particular issue, but it's something to be aware of. :4:

Re: Reccomended to work on many projects at once?
While it's good to take breaks from a tune and freshen your mind to it, be careful of never finishing tunes. I used to take a break from a tune by starting a new one and now have a few dozen unfinished tunes on my harddrive that will likely never get finished. I typically only have 2-5 projects goin...

Does anyone else hate dirty keyboards?
What do you use to clean it? I manage to make mine filthy within days of cleaning it with these alcohol wipe things, but I'm beginning to think that they allow for easier collection of dirt afterwords. It seems like I'm cleaning this goddamn thing more than I'm actually typing on it.

Kontakt has velocity sensitive snare samples, to which you automate the velocity over the life of the roll.
